Traveloka is partnering with The Social Kitchen to make and distribute 1,000 plant-based burgers to Changi Airport’s frontliners.

Traveloka, Southeast Asia’s lifestyle superapp, collaborated with The Social Kitchen (TSK) today for its social program honouring the frontline staff of Changi Airport who have been tirelessly working on the frontline in the travel and tourism industry during the pandemic. Holding the same value and mission of creating a sustainable world, Traveloka together with TSK made and distributed 1,000 plant-based burgers to frontliners at Changi Airport on July 14, 2021.

Traveloka also gave out Traveloka Hotels and Xperience vouchers worth a total of SGD35,000to these frontline workers. This initiative is a part of Traveloka’s #WalkTogether Against COVID-19 movement.

“The pandemic has been difficult for everyone. It is especially tough for our frontline workers. Travel and tourism have been an integral sector to Traveloka as a lifestyle superapp. We want to honour the frontliners in this sector who continue to provide their services and support during the pandemic. The staff at Changi Airport have not only shown exemplary service but are handling the pandemicwith grace and professionalism. Together with The Social Kitchen, we hope to show our appreciation to aviation workers’ dedication in these challenging times,” says Caesar Indra, President of Traveloka.

TSK is a local social enterprise that focuses on creating employment inclusivity in the F&B industry. From TSK’s space in Jurong Bird Park, the Traveloka team worked with TSK staff to prepare, cook, and pack up the 1,000 plant-based burgers. The preparation of these plant-based burgers also promotes sustainable food and lifestyle practices that highlight Traveloka’s commitment to taking care of the environment.

“We are grateful to be able to work with Traveloka and honour the frontliners in the sector that was heavily impacted by the pandemic. This is a manifestation of our commitment to promoting sustainable food for a more sustainable lifestyle. As a business that often works with underrepresented communities and believes in sustainability, having the opportunity to serve these frontliners delicious plant-based burgers is one that we appreciate greatly,” said Avelyn Lee, Director of The Social Kitchen.

TSK and Traveloka delivered these burgers to Changi Airport Group, per safe distancing measures, which will then help to distribute the burgers to airport staff for lunch and dinner.

Traveloka also included Traveloka Hotels and Xperience coupons worth a total of SGD35,000 to frontliners as a further token of appreciation. This first collaboration is part of Traveloka’s commitment to building social inclusivity, promoting a sustainable lifestyle and showing appreciation to aviation workers. This is also part of Traveloka’s #WalkTogether Against COVID-19 movement, the company’s initiative to combat the COVID-19 pandemic through joint collaboration with various stakeholders.
