England’s leading producer of sparkling wine, Nyetimber, together with one of Singapore’s most prominent luxury hotels, Shangri-La Singapore, have relaunched The Nyetimber High Tea Experience. A tropical twist on the British tradition, The Nyetimber High Tea Experience will be available at The Rose Veranda and The Lobby Lounge from now until 15th July 2021, Thursday.

Set within 15 acres of luscious greenery, Shangri-La Singapore is a sanctuary within the garden city. Throughout this period, The Rose Veranda and The Lobby Lounge will be adorned with vibrant floral displays in celebration of the tropical surrounds; The Nyetimber High Tea Experience will offer guests the opportunity to experience Nyetimber’s prestige range of English sparkling wines both by the glass and by the bottle. Nyetimber has been dedicated to the production of the finest English sparkling wine for over 30 years. A tasting flight, featuring Nyetimber Classic Cuvee, Nyetimber Brut Rosé, and Nyetimber Cuvee Chérie Demi- Sec, will enable guests to sample a range of Nyetimber wines, and is available for S$58++ for 3 glasses.

The Rose Veranda

Atop an elegant sweeping staircase leading from the hotel lobby, The Rose Veranda has been an institution for high tea since its inception in 1991. The 3-course Nyetimber High Tea Experience begins with a selection of sandwiches, including Ocean Crab Meat Sandwich with Confit Garlic- truffle Puree in Hazelnut Cracker and Pan Roasted Foie Gras on Toast, Caramelized Figs and Sweet Onion Compote. A choice of main course follows, with options including Honey Marinated Black Cod and Braised Short Ribs, before dessert arrives on a three-tier stand filled with French pastries and signature The Rose Veranda scones and homemade jam. Two signature tea blends are available alongside a curated selection of more than 30 premium tea types.

The experience is available from 1pm – 5pm, Mondays to Sundays and is priced at S$78++ per set (suitable for 2 persons).

The Lobby Lounge

In the garden-facing Lobby Lounge, traditional afternoon tea items are given a local twist; savoury options include the River Prawn with Otah Sandwich, Pandan Roll, and Nonya Hae Bee Hiam and Spanish Tuna Salad on Tartlet, whilst Nutella Banana Tart and Black Sesame & Yuzu Macaroons cater to the sweeter palate.

This experience is available from 3pm – 5pm daily and is priced at S$60++ per set on weekdays, and S$78++ per set on weekends and Public Holidays. Each set is suitable for 2 persons.

Britt Ng, Head Sommelier at Shangri-La Singapore, said, “I am thrilled to be partnering with the Nyetimber team to create this special high tea experience, combining quintessential British tradition with the lush tropical surrounds of Shangri-La Singapore. Nyetimber has been excellently received by our guests to date, and I am looking forward to showcasing the versatility of these wines – in particular, guests will find that, thanks to its sweeter nature, Nyetimber’s Cuvee Chérie pairs excellently with the local flavours served in The Lobby Lounge.”

Nyetimber was the first English producer to exclusively grow the three celebrated grapes varieties — Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Numerous accolades and awards have positioned the brand as an internationally renowned producer, surpassing all expectations of what can be achieved in English winemaking.
