Some people have a morning routine. I have coffee. It is the thing I reach for when the inbox is already full, when the afternoon slump starts creeping in or when I simply need five quiet minutes to feel like a human again. So when a new Starbucks coffee promises not just caffeine, but a little pause before the first sip, it definitely has my attention. There are coffee runs, and then there are coffee moments. The kind where you pause for a second, watch the drink settle in the cup and take that first sip only after the anticipation has done its work.
Starbucks is leaning into that little ritual with the launch of the new Starbucks® Aerocano™ in Singapore, a smoother and more textured take on the iced Americano. Available from 25th May, the new beverage is designed to be as enjoyable to watch as it is to drink, with a soft cascading finish created through a barista air-whipped technique.

At its heart, the Aerocano is still a coffee-forward drink. It is built on one of Starbucks’ widely enjoyed espresso beverages in the region, but reimagined with more texture and visual drama. Freshly pulled Starbucks® Blonde Espresso is aerated to create a fine, velvety microfoam, giving the drink a light air-whipped texture from the first pour. As it settles, pale foam drifts downward over the dark espresso, creating a calm, waterfall-like cascade and soft ombré effect in the cup.
It is the sort of drink made for those small in-between moments: a mid-morning reset, a slower afternoon break or an on-the-go pause that still feels a little intentional. Starbucks baristas carefully control the timing, sequence and intensity of the drink-making process to create the signature creamy foam and smooth texture consistently.
Two ways to enjoy the Aerocano
The new line-up arrives in two versions: Starbucks® Aerocano™ and Starbucks® Yuzu Aerocano™.
The classic Starbucks® Aerocano™ offers a new way to experience the Americano, with freshly pulled espresso transformed through the air-whipped technique into a smoother, more textured iced espresso drink. Crafted over ice with Starbucks® Blonde Roast, it features a fine microfoam and the signature cascading effect, where pale foam layers over dark espresso in a soft ombré. It is available as an iced handcrafted beverage in Grande size only, priced at $6.50.
For something brighter, the Starbucks® Yuzu Aerocano™ brings a citrus twist to the same espresso craft. Also made with freshly pulled Starbucks® Blonde Roast, ice and the barista air-whipped technique, it keeps coffee at the centre while adding a zesty lift from yuzu. The release describes it as a lighter, more rounded cup made for sunny afternoons and on-the-go resets. It is also available as an iced handcrafted beverage in Grande size only, priced at $6.90.
A coffee worth watching before sipping
The appeal of the Aerocano lies partly in the flavour and partly in the small moment before the first sip. Starbucks describes the ritual simply: watch, then sip. The slow cascade, the velvety foam and the layered finish turn a familiar iced coffee order into something more sensory.
And honestly, as someone who thrives on coffee a little more than I probably should, this is exactly the kind of launch I cannot wait to try. Whether it becomes a morning pick-me-up or a sunny afternoon treat, the Aerocano sounds like a small but satisfying way to turn an everyday coffee run into a proper pause.
Both the Starbucks® Aerocano™ and Starbucks® Yuzu Aerocano™ will be available from 25 May in-store and via the Starbucks app for Mobile Order & Pay. For updates on weekly launches and Starbucks® Rewards Member exclusives, customers can follow @starbuckssg.
