Verandah Pool Bar & Grill launches new garden-to-glass menu made for slow poolside evenings

There is something deeply appealing about a drink that does not feel like it is trying too hard. Not overly sweet, not aggressively boozy, not designed purely for the photo moment, but still beautiful enough to make you pause before taking the first sip.

That seems to be the idea behind the refreshed bar programme at Verandah Pool Bar & Grill, located on Level 7 of Momentus Hotel Alexandra. Set beside the hotel’s infinity pool, with greenery, skyline views and a swim-up bar, the space has always had the bones of a relaxed tropical escape. Now, its drinks menu is leaning further into that mood with botanical cocktails, garden-to-glass soda creations and fruit-led takes on familiar classics.

The new menu is built around the idea of mindful indulgence. Instead of presenting cocktails as purely celebratory drinks, Verandah Pool Bar & Grill is taking a lighter, more ingredient-led approach, using house-made infusions, syrups, botanicals, fruits and herbs. It is the kind of drinking experience that feels well suited to Singapore’s current lifestyle mood, where people still want to enjoy themselves, but with a little more balance and intention.

As Felix Wong, General Manager of Momentus Hotel Alexandra, shares, “Drinking today is less about overindulgence and more about balance, flavour and experience.” That sentiment comes through clearly in the bar’s garden-to-glass concept, where fresh botanicals and house-made elements are designed to feel natural, vibrant and easy to enjoy.

Botanical cocktails with a softer touch

One of the key highlights of the refreshed menu is Ladies Moments, a series of wellness-inspired botanical cocktails priced from $22++ each and available daily. While the name may sound a little playful, the drinks themselves are built around clean, layered flavour profiles, with herbs, florals and fruits used to add lift, aroma and complexity.

The Golden Kiss, for instance, is an orange turmeric margarita made with tequila, turmeric, agave nectar, orange juice and lime juice. It brings together citrus brightness and gentle warmth, with turmeric giving the drink a slightly earthy edge. The Quiet Garden takes the form of a matcha martini, blending vodka, matcha, ginger honey syrup and lemon juice for something smoother and more composed.

For something more floral, Love in Bloom is a rosewater ginger fizz made with gin, rosewater, turmeric ginger honey syrup, lemon juice and soda water. Midnight Dream, meanwhile, uses vodka, blue pea syrup, simple syrup and egg white to create a visually striking butterfly pea cocktail with a silky foam. There is also Honey Moon, an ashwagandha honey spritz with gin, ashwagandha powder, honey syrup, lime juice and soda water.

What ties the series together is not a heavy-handed wellness promise, but a gentler sense of balance. These are still cocktails, after all, but they are crafted to feel aromatic, fresh and easy to drink rather than overly rich or syrupy.

Mocktails that do not feel like an afterthought

The Garden to Glass Soda Pop Series may be the most versatile part of the new menu, especially for groups that include non-drinkers, younger guests or anyone who simply wants something refreshing by the pool. Priced from $10++ each and available daily, the series features house-crafted soda pop mocktails made with real ingredients and no artificial flavours or preservatives.

There are seven options in the collection, each built around a different flavour profile. Brain Food is a citrusy rosemary refresher, while Chill Out brings together mint syrup, lime, cucumber water and soda for something clean and cooling. Goes Blue uses cold-brew butterfly pea flower tea, lychee syrup, lime and soda, making it one of the more visually striking choices.

Other options include Heart Throb, a hibiscus and watermelon soda with honey, Party Starter, a lemongrass, pineapple and grenadine blend, Sunkissed, a turmeric, mango and orange soda and Skin Saver, which combines cucumber, lychee syrup, lime, kiwi drop and soda.

The appeal here is simple: these drinks feel fun without feeling childish. They are colourful, refreshing and poolside-friendly, but still thoughtfully put together. For a sunny afternoon, a casual catch-up or a family-friendly hotel outing, this part of the menu gives everyone something to order beyond the usual soft drink.

Familiar cocktails, refreshed with fruit

For those who prefer classics, Verandah Pool Bar & Grill has also introduced a Drink of the Month series, priced from $16++ each. The concept takes familiar cocktail bases such as Mojito, Daiquiri, Margarita and Martini, then reimagines them across eight fruit variations: lychee, orange, blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, lime, pineapple and kiwi.

The series begins with the Mojito, allowing guests to experience its signature citrus and mint profile through different fruit-led interpretations. It is a clever way to make repeat visits feel slightly different without straying too far from drinks people already know and enjoy.

A rooftop hour for unhurried evenings

For those planning a longer evening out, the Momentus Hour Unlimited Package rounds out the experience. Available daily from 5pm to 8pm, the package is priced at $98++ per person and includes unlimited access to cocktails and tapas-style bites.

Food highlights include Crispy Chicken Lollipop, ‘Har Cheong’ Paper Thin Pork Belly, Grilled Baby Octopus, Thai Street Chicken Skin and Dirty Picanha Steak with Truffle Fries. Drinks include 1925 Lager draught beer, house wines, Gin & Tonic, Whisky Sour, Cranberry Bellini, Mango Lychee, Pink Lady and Blue Lagoon. Cocktails and tapas-style bites are also available à la carte from $10++, with vegetarian options available.

It is easy to see this working for after-work catch-ups, pre-dinner drinks or even an unhurried birthday gathering where the point is not to rush through the meal, but to settle in and enjoy the view.

A city escape without leaving the city

Part of Verandah Pool Bar & Grill’s charm is its setting. Located at Momentus Hotel Alexandra, the rooftop bar sits near the Southern Ridges and offers a more relaxed alternative to the usual city-centre drinking spots. The venue features a floor-to-ceiling glass alcove, a swim-up counter and views across the Alexandra precinct, moving naturally from daytime refreshment to evening drinks under the open sky.

The bar opens from 3pm to 11pm from Sunday to Thursday, and from 3pm to 12am on Fridays, Saturdays, eves of public holidays and public holidays. The dress code is smart casual.

For anyone looking for a fresh place to unwind, whether over a botanical cocktail, a low-sugar soda pop or a shared round of tapas by the pool, Verandah Pool Bar & Grill’s new menu offers an easy reason to head west for your next golden-hour drink.
