The Mogul of Massu Maranam, the man behind the viral Kolaveri Song– Anirudh Ravichander is back in Singapore.

Get ready for the biggest Indian Beach Party in South East Asia!

Sargam- Music in Heaven, a joint venture between JigZaw Productions and Sarvesh Festival of Arts, is bringing this MARANA MASS PARTY with Anirudh Ravichander to  Palawan Green, Sentosa on 7th September 2019.

Anirudh Ravichander is a revered name in the Indian music industry who has also been making a mark in the international scene with his collaborations with artists like Diplo among others in recent years. The whole world fell in love with his Why this Kolaveri Di song in the year 2011, which was honoured with the “Recently Most Popular” Gold Medal award and “Trending” silver medal award by YouTube for receiving a large number of hits in a short time. At the time of writing, this song has more than 192 Million views on YouTube.

There has been no looking back for this music maestro since then. Today, he actively works in Hindi and Tamil movies and has international recognition.  Anirudh, who at the age of 19, left a spot at NUS to focus on music, is an inspiration to millions across the globe today. He has won 9 South Indian International Movie Awards.

Up and close with Anirudh Ravichander for Sargam Concerts by JigZaw Productions and Sarvesh Festival of Arts

The Vent Machine had the opportunity to have a one-on-one with Anirudh and the organisers during a pre-event Press Conference held at Taste of India earlier this week where the media got a chance to learn more about the upcoming concert and music, in general.

Amazed by Anirudh’s humble and ground-to-earth attitude, I asked him about his first reaction to Kolaveri Dimagnanimous success back in 2011 when he was barely 19-20 years old. He smiled and replied- “We just tried to keep our focus on the work. At that time, we did not even understand the concept of going viral, all this was so new. But, yeah, we took one thing at a time and tried not to get carried away with everything.”

Today, Anirudh is one of the best-selling recording artists, with an estimated 20 million units sold worldwide. My next question to him was that at the mere age of 28, he has achieved tremendous success, so what would 2019 Anirudh say to 2011 Anirudh. He smiled again and said- “I would say not too bad, beta.”

Anirudh has performed twice in Singapore before and his concerts have been a major hit in the Lion City both times. Naturally, this year also fans are brimming with excitement for Anirudh’s concert. When we asked the organisers about what makes this concert unique, Mr Jeevan R from JigZaw Productions explained that this is Anirudh’s first open-air beach concert at Sentosa.

Mr Jeevan further said-

It is going to be wild and everyone is going to have the time of their lives! To eliminate the dilemma of weather, we have planned everything in advance. There will be water canyons and everyone will be able to enjoy Singapore’s first-ever open-air Indian Live Beach Concert!

Versatile singer Jonita Gandhi, the voice of ‘Donu Donu Donu’ Alisha Thomas and YouTube sensation Inno Genga will also be performing during the concert. The Thiruvizha will also feature Stephen Zechariah who has given hit songs like ‘Theruvoram’, Malaysia’s favourite entertainers, PSYCHO.unit and ‘Habibi’ Fame Sophia Akkara from Switzerland as opening acts.
