Most of us do not buy phones based on specs alone. We buy them because we want better photos of our children, clearer concert videos, a battery that does not give up before dinner and a phone that still looks good when we pull it out at lunch.
That is where vivo’s new V70 series fits in. The brand has introduced two new models in Singapore, the vivo V70 and the vivo V70 FE, both aimed at users who want a stylish phone with strong cameras, long battery life and useful AI tools without moving into ultra-premium flagship pricing.

I spent time looking at both phones from a very everyday point of view: which one feels better for photos, travel, social content, busy days out and the kind of phone use most of us actually have in Singapore.
First impressions: two phones with different personalities
The vivo V70 is clearly the more premium-looking of the two. It comes in Golden Hour and Alpine Grey, with the Golden Hour colourway being the more eye-catching option. vivo describes it as having a Sunset Glow Design, with a textured glass finish that creates flowing highlights across the back panel. The phone also uses an Aerospace-Grade Aluminum Alloy Frame, which gives it a more polished feel.

Building on its advanced camera capabilities, V70 FE is equipped with the largest and most
powerful battery ever in V series
The vivo V70 FE, on the other hand, feels more playful and youthful. It comes in Muse Purple and Ocean Blue, with the Muse Purple version leaning into vivo’s fashion-forward V series identity. Despite its large 7000 mAh battery, the V70 FE remains relatively slim at 7.59 mm and weighs 200 g, which is impressive for a phone with such a big battery. If looks matter to you, the V70 feels more refined and premium, while the V70 FE feels fresher, lighter and more fun.
Camera: V70 for portraits and concerts, V70 FE for detail and everyday content
The camera story is where the two phones start to separate.
The vivo V70 is the one to consider if you care about portraits, concerts, stage performances and video. It comes with a 50 MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera, a 50 MP ZEISS OIS Main Camera, an 8 MP ZEISS Ultra Wide-Angle Camera and a 50 MP ZEISS Group Selfie Camera with autofocus.
The most interesting feature here is AI Stage Mode, which is designed for stage photography. If you often attend concerts, school performances, theatre shows or live events, this is useful because most phone cameras struggle when the subject is far away, lighting is harsh and people are moving. The V70’s telephoto camera and AI Stage Mode work together to support crisp stage photos at 10x zoom.
The V70 also supports 4K 60 fps video, which makes it the stronger option for users who shoot a lot of video, whether that is travel clips, reels, event coverage or family moments. It also has AI Audio Noise Eraser, which can detect and reduce unwanted sounds in recordings.

The vivo V70 FE takes a different approach. Its headline feature is the 200 MP High Resolution Mode, supported by a large 1/1.56-inch sensor, CIPA 4.0-rated optical image stabilisation and up to 30x zoom with telephoto enhancement.
This makes the V70 FE appealing if you like taking wide shots, travel photos, group photos and detailed images that you can crop later. vivo also highlights Ultra-Clear Photo Crop, which lets users crop smaller scenes from a single image while keeping detail. That is useful for parents, travellers and content creators who often realise only later that the best part of a photo was in the background.
Both phones also come with AI photo tools such as AI Magic Weather, AI Magic Landscape, AI Erase and AI colour adjustments, which are designed to make post-editing easier directly on the device.
In simple terms, choose the V70 if you want the stronger portrait, concert and video phone. Choose the V70 FE if you want a high-detail camera for everyday shooting, travel, social posts and cropping flexibility.
Battery: the V70 FE is the endurance winner
Battery life is one of the most practical reasons to consider the V70 FE. The vivo V70 FE comes with a 7000 mAh BlueVolt Battery and 90W FlashCharge. vivo says it can support up to 43.8 hours of continuous YouTube playback on a full charge, based on lab testing, and up to 16 hours of mixed use across apps such as navigation, photography, TikTok, YouTube, Spotify, Instagram and LINE while still retaining 14% battery.
That makes it the more attractive option if you are out the whole day, travelling, attending events, using maps, taking photos and posting constantly. The vivo V70 is no slouch either. It has a 6500 mAh BlueVolt Battery and also supports 90W FlashCharge. For most users, that is still more than enough for a full day. But if your main concern is “Will this phone survive a packed day out?”, the V70 FE has the edge.
Everyday use: OriginOS 6 and AI tools
Both phones run on vivo’s new OriginOS 6, which brings a more connected and AI-supported experience. On the V70, OriginOS 6 includes features such as Origin Island, Copy & Go, Drag & Go, AI Search, AI Creation, AI Captions and Gemini Assistant with Google. These are meant to help with daily tasks such as finding files, writing, translating, summarising and managing notifications.
The V70 FE also runs OriginOS 6 and includes tools such as AI Search, AI Creation, AI Captions, Google Gemini, One-Tap Transfer and vivo Office Kit. For regular users, the useful part is not just “AI” as a buzzword. It is whether the phone can help you search faster, edit photos faster, move files more easily and reduce the number of steps needed for daily tasks. That is the more realistic value here.
Durability: Both are built for real life
Both phones come with IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, which is reassuring for Singapore weather, sudden rain, poolside days, beach trips or the occasional spill. The V70 also adds 10-Facet Drop Resistance and is described as withstanding accidental drops from up to 1.5 m.
The V70 FE also has IP68 and IP69 protection and vivo says it has been tested to withstand immersion in fresh water up to 1.5 m deep for up to 120 minutes under laboratory conditions. Of course, this does not mean either phone should be treated like a waterproof action camera. But it does make both devices feel more practical for everyday use.
So, which one should you pick?
Pick the vivo V70 if you want the more premium phone. It is better suited for users who care about ZEISS portraits, stage photography, concert shots, video quality, a more refined design and stronger overall performance. It is priced at S$799for the 12GB + 256GB version.
Pick the vivo V70 FE if you want the better-value everyday phone. It gives you a 200 MP camera, massive 7000 mAh battery, 90W fast charging, a fun design and a lower price point of S$599 for the 8GB + 256GB version. For creators, concert-goers and those who want better portraits, the V70 makes more sense. For students, parents, travellers and heavy phone users who want long battery life and a strong camera without spending as much, the V70 FE is the practical pick.
Availability and trade-in programme in Singapore
The vivo V70 and vivo V70 FE are now available in Singapore via Shopee, Lazada, TikTok and authorised retailers including Challenger, Best Denki, Courts, Harvey Norman, Gain City, NTUC FairPrice, Popular and telcos. Both models also come with complimentary vivo Buds Air 3, a 2-year local warranty and a 3-month screen warranty.
vivo has also introduced a new smartphone trade-in programme at its vivo Experience & Service Store at 313@somerset. Customers can bring in eligible devices for an on-site assessment, receive an instant valuation and apply that value directly towards the purchase of a new vivo smartphone. That makes the V70 series more accessible for anyone who is already thinking of upgrading but does not want their old phone sitting forgotten in a drawer.
