Step inside Starbucks WEAVE at Resorts World Sentosa, featuring Bearistas, exclusive food and drinks, personalised tumbler engraving and adorable merchandise.
There are some brands you consume and others that quietly become part of your life. Starbucks has been the latter for me. The Starbucks at Downtown East, the one closest to where I live, became something of a haven during my postpartum years. My baby and I were always welcomed there, even on the days when I arrived tired, slightly frazzled and trying to squeeze work into the unpredictable gaps of early motherhood.

The store manager would happily offer her a little cup of complimentary whipped cream, finished with chocolate or caramel drizzle, so I could open my laptop and work while she sat beside me, delighted with her treat. It was a small gesture, but mothers remember the places that make life feel easier rather than making them feel like they are taking up too much space.
My daughter, Divisha, is five now. The whipped cream phase has gradually given way to babyccinos and our Starbucks visits have evolved into proper mother-daughter dates. Last year, we spent a lovely afternoon together at the Starbucks in the heart of Chinatown, where the surroundings gave an ordinary coffee date a sense of occasion.

That is perhaps why the idea behind the new Starbucks WEAVE at Resorts World Sentosa resonated with me immediately. This is not merely a coffeehouse with a larger floor plan or a few destination-exclusive drinks. It has been consciously created as a family-first gathering place where locals, families and international visitors can pause, explore and make memories together. And as someone whose memories of Starbucks are deeply tied to motherhood, work and growing up alongside my child, it feels like a natural continuation of that relationship.
A Starbucks designed for lingering
Starbucks WEAVE is located at 26 Sentosa Gateway within Resorts World Sentosa, a place my family visits often. Starbucks has already become our reliable stop whenever we are there, whether we need a break between attractions, a drink before heading home or simply a comfortable space to reset.
Starbucks WEAVE takes that familiar ritual and turns it into something much more immersive. The store is spacious, warm and intentionally playful without feeling chaotic. It is the kind of café where parents can settle in without immediately worrying that their children are disrupting a more formal environment. There is room to pause, look around and let the visit become part of the Sentosa experience rather than a functional coffee run.

The store marks Starbucks Singapore’s 30th year, three decades after its first local outlet opened at Liat Towers in 1996. The anniversary is commemorated through a special plaque and emblem inside Starbucks WEAVE, connecting the new concept with the brand’s longer history as an everyday “third place” for Singaporeans. That idea of a third place matters. For many of us, a café is not only where we drink coffee. It is where we work between appointments, meet friends, soothe an unsettled child, decompress after a long day or spend an hour with someone we love. Starbucks WEAVE understands that emotional function and builds upon it.
The Bearistas will be impossible for children to resist
The most immediately charming part of the store is its larger-than-life Bearistas. Three Bearista statues anchor the space, each combining Starbucks iconography with elements of Singaporean culture. There is a Peranakan Bearista dressed in a colourful kebaya with batik-inspired details, a Merlion Bearista and a Starbucks Siren Bearista inspired by the brand’s coffee heritage.
The mascot is extremely cute in person and the Peranakan Bearista was easily one of my favourites. It is cheerful, distinctly local and exactly the kind of detail children will want to inspect, photograph and talk about long after the visit. Sadly, Divisha was not with me at the launch, but I already know the Bearistas are going to be a huge hit when I bring her down. I can already imagine our visit becoming less of a quick coffee stop and more of a Bearista hunt.

Two additional Bearista installations are positioned around Resorts World Sentosa. Guests who photograph them, share the images on social media and show their post to the Starbucks WEAVE baristas can redeem an exclusive Bearista sticker sheet while stocks last. It is a simple activity, but one that cleverly extends the experience beyond the café itself and gives families another reason to explore the resort together.
Local art gives the store its soul
Beyond the mascots and merchandise, the artwork is what prevents WEAVE from feeling like a theme café built only for photographs. Starbucks collaborated with Singaporean illustrator Candice Phang, also known as Puffingmuffin, on a bespoke two-part mural series. The first mural brings a dreamlike tropical energy into the café, reflecting Sentosa’s laid-back island character. The second moves into the craftsmanship and farming communities behind each cup of coffee.

The illustrations add colour and movement to the space while still allowing it to feel calm. They also offer something worth looking at beyond logos and product displays. For a destination store, that matters. The strongest branded spaces do not simply sell more things. They create a setting that makes people want to stay.
A menu that leans into fun and comfort
The WEAVE-exclusive menu is playful enough for children, but it is not limited to novelty desserts. My personal favourite was the Mushroom Soupuccino served with focaccia bread. The soup was perfectly milky, deeply comforting and far more filling than I expected. The warm bread made it feel like a proper light meal rather than a side dish, and it is the item I would return for first. It is priced at S$7.50. I also tried the potato salad with sous vide chicken and broccoli, which was creamy, satisfying and surprisingly substantial. At S$15.90, it works well for anyone who wants lunch without choosing pasta or a heavier café meal. The kaya butter croissant was another highlight. Familiar Singaporean flavours in a buttery pastry felt entirely right for a destination store welcoming both local visitors and tourists.

On the sweeter side, I sampled the new desserts and thoroughly enjoyed the range. The Bearista Nama Chocolate Mousse Cake combines chocolate sponge with silky nama chocolate mousse, while the cupcakes come in cotton candy, chocolate and caramel, each finished with a Bearista cookie topper. There are also chocolate, strawberry and vanilla Bearista cake pops, plus Bearista-shaped butter and chocolate cookies. These are undeniably designed to be photographed, but they are also the kind of treats children will be genuinely excited to choose.
For drinks, I tried the Java Chip option as well as the bright strawberry and lime-style refresher. The launch menu officially includes an Iced Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade, priced at S$10.90, with strawberry, citrus and a sparkling finish. There is also a Cookie Chocolate Chip Cream Frappuccino topped with whipped cream, cookie crumble and a Bearista cookie topper, plus a Cocoa Cappuccino with a Bearista face dusted over the foam. Selected drinks are served in exclusive Bearista reusable cups, another detail that makes the menu feel connected to the wider store experience rather than simply added on for the launch.
Merchandise that may test your self-control
The merchandise is, quite honestly, out of this world. WEAVE carries several store-exclusive collections, including the Bearista Buddy range of mugs, bottles and matching saucer sets, as well as the Bearista Resort Collection in buttercream yellow, beige, burnt orange and sage green. The Talking Toes and Starbucks WEAVE collaboration is particularly fun. Reimagined as a Bearista Beach Edition, it includes graphic T-shirts, embroidered caps and statement socks inspired by sun, sand and resort life.
Yet the Peranakan designs stole my heart. They feel distinctly Singaporean without becoming predictable tourist souvenirs. Cute, culturally recognisable and highly giftable, they are likely to be among the pieces visitors remember most.
A personalised keepsake
One of WEAVE’s defining experiences is Singapore’s first Starbucks in-store precision laser tumbler engraving station. Customers can personalise selected stainless-steel drinkware, including Stanley Quenchers, using names, text, icons and Singapore-inspired designs such as the Peranakan Bearista, Merlion Bearista and a commemorative “Est. 1996” anniversary motif.

I chose a classic tumbler for Divisha and had her name engraved on it, along with a Bearista design. Among all the elaborate merchandise and launch-day excitement, that was the part that felt most personal to me. A tumbler is an everyday object. But adding her name turned it into a small marker of this stage in our lives, when our Starbucks dates now involve conversations, babyccinos and her increasingly firm opinions about what she wants to order. The engraving collection includes Stanley Quenchers, water bottles and other neutral-toned designs intended to become one-of-a-kind souvenirs from the visit.
For travellers, it is a personalised memento of Singapore. For me, it is something I cannot wait to give my daughter before bringing her back to meet the Bearistas herself.
Come for the drinks, stay for the food and fall for the merch
It would be easy to describe Starbucks WEAVE through its most visible features: exclusive drinks, adorable Bearistas, Instagram-friendly murals and covetable merchandise. But the reason it works is more emotional. It recognises that families do not always need another attraction packed with activities. Sometimes, we simply need a welcoming place where everyone can settle in, eat something comforting and enjoy being together.
My relationship with Starbucks began long before Divisha could say the word babyccino. It carried me through postpartum days when leaving the house with a baby felt like an achievement, through working afternoons supported by a kind manager and a tiny cup of whipped cream, and into mother-daughter dates that now have their own rituals.
Starbucks WEAVE feels like a place built for the next chapter of those memories. This time, with a personalised tumbler waiting for her and three giant Bearistas ready to be discovered.
