In celebration of 50 years of Polish-Singapore diplomatic relations reflecting the maritime traditions of the two nations, One Faber Group recently unveiled the newly renamed Poland’s Bells of Happiness after being presented with a second commemorative bell of the “Dar Mtodziezy” tall ship.
The bells were unveiled in the presence of Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure, Minister for Transport of Singapore Mr Khaw Boon Wan and Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation of Poland, Mr Marek Gróbarczyk.
Symbols Of Joy And Good Fortune
The new bell marks the first anniversary of the vessel’s Singapore port of call in October 2018 and is symbolically united with the existing century-old Bell of Happiness atop Faber Peak.
The existing bell is from the majestic Polish ship “Dar Pomorza”, also known as the “White Frigate”. This bell is believed to bring good fortune to newlyweds and has rung in many wishes for joy and happiness since it was installed in the year 1992.
Mr Buhdy Bok, Managing Director, One Faber Group, said:
“We are very honoured to be the recipient of the new commemorative bell of ‘Dar Młodzieży’, marking 50 years of Poland-Singapore diplomatic relations. This bell could not have come at a better time, especially as we celebrate the Singapore Cable Car’s 45th anniversary. The Cable Car is an iconic attraction that has played a significant role in the Singaporean tourism landscape for 45 years with close to 57 million riders since we started in 1974. The Faber Peak “Bell of Happiness” has been a popular stop for guests visiting the destination and a key symbolic element for couples holding their solemnisation here, so we hope the two bells will bring double happiness to all our visitors.”
