SevenRooms, a guest experience and retention platform for the hospitality industry, continues its international expansion, announcing its official launch and increased investment in Singapore and Hong Kong. The local team will be led by APAC General Manager, Paul Hadida, who has over a decade of hospitality industry experience and has led SevenRooms rapid expansion in Australia over the last 18 months.
SevenRooms’ arrival comes as operators are looking to the future, while simultaneously contending with the continued impacts of the pandemic, including staff shortages and evolving guest expectations. SevenRooms helped thousands of venues in hundreds of cities around the world transform their operations to mitigate the impact of the pandemic and cater to evolving consumer demands. It will do likewise for the industry in Singapore and Hong Kong which has been beset by business closures and staff shortages over the last two years.
According to data from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the number of people employed in accommodation and Food & Beverage (F&B) services in Singapore has dropped 13% from December 2019 to December 2021. However, with the recent relaxing of restrictions, reservations across Singapore are surging. In Hong Kong, restrictions remain, but the recent reopening of international borders to select countries and an anticipated easing of social distancing measures in April are providing hope.
“Today is an exciting day for SevenRooms and a significant milestone in our mission to revolutionise the way the global hospitality industry provides exceptional guest experiences,” said Paul Hadida, General Manager APAC at SevenRooms. “We’ve grown organically in the region over the last few years, with 1-Group, Jigger & Pony and Wine Connection among our existing local customers. The timing of our launch is very significant. Restrictions are easing at different rates, and while challenges remain, there is an excitement about what the future holds. Our mission is to help operators – big and small, new and established – rebuild by creating the data-driven foundations that incentivise loyalty, boost revenue and build meaningful guest relationships.”
Furthering its investment in the region, SevenRooms will be significantly ramping its on-the-ground presence in Hong Kong and Singapore with the hiring of Sales and Customer Success roles. The company is currently recruiting heavily across the region, with 11% of the company’s total global roles for 2022 expected for the APAC region. This will account for a 120% increase in the number of SevenRooms employees across Singapore and Hong Kong.
SevenRooms currently works with thousands of restaurants across the globe, including nearly 750 restaurants throughout Hong Kong and Singapore. It has existing integrations with technology partners throughout the region, including Chope, OpenRice, Zomato, eats365, xnProtel, Bindo POS, Everyware, Revel Systems, Infrasys, Infogenesis, Micros Simphony 2 and ikentoo. Over the coming months, SevenRooms will continue to build out integrations across the region, in addition to opening offices in both Hong Kong and Singapore.
SevenRooms’ CRM-driven platform includes reservation, waitlist and table management, online ordering, contactless order and pay, review aggregation and marketing automation. SevenRooms believes in the power of direct relationships, enabling operators to connect directly with guests and collect data across the customer journey. It empowers operators to create meaningful and personal guest relationships both on- and off-premise that maximise profits, incentivise loyalty and cultivate exceptional experiences at every interaction: from acquiring to engaging to retaining more customers.
Commenting on the launch, Joel Montaniel, SevenRooms CEO, said:
“We’re delighted to officially launch SevenRooms in Singapore and Hong Kong, empowering operators as they enter a new era for post-pandemic hospitality. These cities are two of the hospitality capitals of the world, offering a diverse array of restaurants known for their culinary excellence and incredible guest experiences. As we’ve seen in the U.S., United Kingdom, Australia and across the globe, our platform isn’t just essential for overcoming the worst of the pandemic, it’s essential for leading by example as industries and markets reopen. After two incredibly challenging years, we are helping the local industry return to its former glory. Through the opening of our local office, in addition to the planned expansion of our on-the-ground team, we are supporting the local hospitality sector, helping operators discover new ways to adapt and drive growth in an ever-evolving, competitive market.”
