India is a land of rich cultural heritage and traditional values, which we as indians, are definitely proud of. Let me make this very clear that neither am I against Pallus on head nor am I against exposing cleavage (flaunt it if you’ve got it… none of my business)! My question is plain and simple. Why this hypocrisy ? I do not understand the logic of it.
Okay, let me come straight to the point. After eight years of living in the Delhi & NCR region, I have come to a conclusion (after thorough observation) about women hailing from a particular region of North India. This is about how well they cover more than half of their faces (irrespective of the fact that their pallus might be blocking their vision) while more than half of their well-endowed bosoms are left free to pop out of their blouses, dangling as they walk.
Here I have two questions to ask:
- Why the hypocrisy of covering faces and risking tripping over to break a bone? Be free, be modern, live with complete vision.
- If you are traditional/conservative enough that you would not expose your faces in front of the world, then how come several inches below the face, you become an epitome of boldness?
I mean it can either be this or that, right? Well, another perspective to look at this sect of ladies can be that they are the perfect examples of “Where Eat meets West”! A blend of the traditional and the modern! Ha ha… Whatever their logic be, it is beyond my comprehension.
P.S. Thank you Vineeta Asthana Maám for helping me with the images.
