NEX mall has lit up for Mid-Autumn 2026 with Mooncakes, festive games and Moonlit experiences
There are some mall outings that begin as a quick meal and somehow turn into an entire afternoon of discovery. Our recent visit to NEX was exactly that. We started with lunch at Charcoal Grill Shinpachi, where the salmon set was an easy favourite, before heading down to the TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair at the Level 1 Atrium. With mooncake counters stretching across the space, there was plenty to sample, but the one that won us over was Home’s Favourite. We tried its pistachio mooncake, loved it enough to immediately justify bringing a box home and, frankly, have no regrets.
For Divisha, however, the highlight came later upstairs at NEX’s Moonlit Moments activation. Between the Interactive Lantern Riddle Wall, AI Portrait Photo Booth and the oversized-Autumn programme running across NEX this September, combining festive food, hands-on activities and a lantern-lit rooftop gathering.
Start with the TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair
Running from 4 to 25 September 2026 at the NEX Atrium, Level 1, the TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair brings together more than 20 brands, with a mix of familiar names, newcomers and flavours that range from traditional lotus paste to more contemporary creations. The fair runs from 10am to 10pm daily, except on 4 September when it opens at 12pm.
Among the more interesting offerings is La Levain’s Momoyama Cantonese Mooncake collection, made in Singapore with a less-sweet recipe and refined Momoyama skin. Flavours include Mixed Berry Lotus with Raspberry Rose, Chocolate Lotus with Pistachio Crunch, Pure White Lotus with Salted Egg Yolk and Uji Matcha White Lotus with Valrhona Yuzu Chocolate.
Fairmont Singapore is also presenting an Assorted Mini Snowskin Mooncake Set at S$128, with eight flavours including Dubai Chocolate, Pandan Bliss, Whisky Orange and Yuzu Green Tea. The set comes in a limited-edition 40th Anniversary Heritage Keepsake Box.
For those who prefer something less conventional, Pinch Bakehouse has a Mochi Brownie Mooncake in Pistachio at S$34.90, combining brownie, pistachio and a chewy mochi centre. And then there is the one we personally loved: Home’s Favourite Snow Skin Moonlit Pistachio Mooncake, priced at S$74.80. It combines pistachio paste and crunchy pistachio pieces with a chewy snowskin exterior. This was the one we tasted at the fair and ended up taking home.
Goodwood Park Hotel also has one of the cutest presentations of the season, with its new Jade Bunny Mooncake Set at S$72. The six rabbit-shaped snowskin mooncakes contain lotus seed paste and melon seeds, with the design inspired by the Jade Rabbit of Mid-Autumn folklore. Packaging is another big part of the fair this year. Offerings from Pan Pacific Singapore, Hong Kong MX and The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore lean heavily into festive gifting, while Casahana and FooYoung are new additions to the TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair at NEX this year.
There are rewards and little activities around the fair too
The fair is not only about buying mooncakes. NEXrewards members who spend at least S$20 in a single transactionand scan their member QR at the fair can earn NEXpoints.
Families can also take part in the Eight Bites Trail, sampling festive treats across eight participating booths: Gin Thye, Tai Chong Kok, Mdm Ling Bakery, Baker’s Oven, My Mum’s Cookies, Scoopz, La Levain and Comvita. Complete the mooncake-shaped card by collecting all eight “slices” and you can redeem a free Sanrio lantern and special gift, limited to the first 200 redemptions while stocks last.
There is also a DIY Lantern-Painting Art Jam on 5 and 19 September from 2pm to 5pm. A minimum spend of S$200 at the Mid-Autumn Fair, across a maximum of three combined receipts, allows shoppers to redeem one workshop experience. Sessions accommodate up to eight participants every 30 minutes and are subject to availability.
Moonlit Moments is especially fun if you are visiting with kids
The Moonlit Moments Activation, located outside Yue Hwa on Level 3, runs from 5 to 20 September 2026. The Mooncake Packing Game was one of Divisha’s favourites. Participants use oversized chopsticks to move life-sized mooncakes into a box against the clock. Those who take part receive a small festive token while stocks last.
Alongside it is the AI Portrait Photo Booth, where shoppers can choose from a variety of portrait styles and receive the finished creation digitally via QR code. Animated versions are also available. A S$30 spend in a single transaction gives shoppers access to both the Mooncake Packing Game and the AI Portrait Photo Booth, subject to terms and conditions.
The third element, and an easy one to try even without spending, is the Interactive Lantern Riddle Wall. It is free for all and runs from 10am to 10pm daily. Participants scan a QR code and answer 10 riddles in English or Chinese, with scores based on accuracy and speed. A live leaderboard displays the top 10 players and the fastest solver, while each of the top 10 winners receives S$50 in eNEXvouchers.
End the evening at the Moonlight Gathering
For those visiting later in the month, NEX is also taking the Mid-Autumn celebrations outdoors.
On 19 and 20 September, the Moonlight Gathering will take place at the Level 4R Rooftop, with two sessions each evening from 7.15pm to 8pm and 8.15pm to 9pm. The rooftop will be dressed with lanterns, fairy lights and Mid-Autumn décor, with participants also receiving a goodie bag and the chance to meet the Rabbit mascot.
A S$30 single-transaction spend is required to redeem the experience. Each redemption admits two participants, with a maximum of 30 participants, or 15 pairs, per session.
Is NEX’s Mid-Autumn celebration worth checking out?
For us, what worked was that it did not feel like we had gone down specifically for a single Mid-Autumn event. We had a genuinely good lunch, wandered through the TANGS fair, discovered a mooncake we liked enough to take home, then let Divisha spend time playing at the Level 3 activation.
That makes this a particularly easy one for families: you can drop by for mooncake shopping, make an afternoon of the games or plan your visit around the rooftop Moonlight Gathering.
