PAssionArts Festival Villages are a must-visit this year! Discover the vibrant fusion of Singapore’s culinary culture and artistic expressions at the PAssionArts Festival 2024, happening this weekend from 7-8 September. The festival promises a unique blend of art and cultural activities, inspired by beloved local dishes and delights.
Organised by the PAssionArts network of Community Arts and Culture Clubs (CACCs), this year’s festival spans 67 festival villages with the theme “Palettes of Joy.” Here’s a closer look at the highlights and key events you won’t want to miss.






Ayer Rajah-Gek Poh PAssionArts Festival Villages
Start your festival journey at Ayer Rajah-Gek Poh PAssionArts Festival on 7th September from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm at the Hard Court beside Teban Gardens Market. The highlight of the event is the Joyful Desserts art installation, featuring over 1,200 art pieces crafted by 600 residents, including “ice cream” made using the fluid art technique and “Ang Ku Kuehs.” Alongside this, enjoy batik painting, pebble stone art, and vibrant community drumming performances.
Kampong Glam Mid-Autumn Festival
Celebrate the Mid-Autumn festive spirit at Kampong Glam on 7th September from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm at Zhongshan Park. Families can participate in Peranakan Tiles Painting or create Glass Mosaic Coasters. The event features traditional dance performances and a captivating Face-Changing Performance, making it an artistic feast for all ages.
Cashew PAssionArts Festival
For those passionate about sustainability, visit the Cashew PAssionArts Festival on 7th September from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm at Senja-Cashew CC. Eco-artist Didier Ng presents a giant picnic mat and food art pieces crafted from recycled materials. Enjoy hands-on art activities such as Pipe Cleaner Fruit Art, Tote Bag Painting, and Paper Quilling, while live performances by the GESS-International School band and local residents keep the atmosphere lively.
Canberra Mid-Autumn Festival
The Canberra Mid-Autumn Festival will take place on 7th September from 6.30 pm to 9.00 pm at Canberra CC. Marvel at the mass display of 1,000 lanterns and participate in the Singapore Book of Records attempt with residents dressing as Chang’e, the moon goddess. Engage in craft workshops like Upcycled Lantern Making, Air Dry Clay Mooncake Keychain Making, and enjoy cultural performances including Er Hu and Chinese Dance.
