Get ready to scream Underground: Singapore’s largest immersive horror experience opens this September

0 0

Attention, thrill-seekers and horror enthusiasts! This September, Singapore is about to turn up the terror with Underground: The Summoning—an immersive horror experience that promises to be unlike anything you’ve ever encountered. Imagine this: a 12,000 sq. ft. World War II bunker, buried beneath the historic grounds of Fort Canning, where spine-chilling horrors lurk around every corner. Yes, you read that right. Starting on 25 September 2024, the Battlebox will transform into the terrifying playground for this nerve-wracking adventure.

Why Underground is the must-attend event of the season

Let’s be honest. Singaporeans love a good scare, and there’s no better way to get your dose of adrenaline than by descending into an underground maze filled with unspeakable horrors. But this isn’t your average haunted house with costumed actors jumping out from behind walls. No, no. Underground: The Summoning is in a league of its own, combining live theatrical performances, interactive sequences, and mind-bending special effects to create a fully immersive experience.

Underground

Picture this: It’s January 1942. The Japanese forces are closing in, and the desperate British officers stationed in the Battlebox bunker decide to dabble in dark rituals, hoping to summon help. But instead of salvation, they unleash Bellum, the demon lord of war. Now, with demonic forces running amok in the bunker, it’s up to you and your small band of fellow survivors to navigate this labyrinth of terror, outwit the malevolent forces, and hopefully, make it out alive.

What makes Underground so special?

What sets Underground apart from your typical horror attraction? The setting, for one. The Battlebox isn’t just any old place; it’s a historic WWII bunker that’s seen its fair share of wartime drama. Now, this very space will host a horrifying tale of soldiers, demons, and dark rituals gone wrong. According to Jonathan Lim, the writer and director of the experience, the venue’s historical significance plays a key role in amplifying the sense of dread that permeates the event.

Executive Producer Marc Khoo from Super Productions adds, “This isn’t just about getting scared. We want you to live the experience, to feel like you’re a part of the story. Every decision you make can change the course of your journey. It’s that level of immersion that we believe will set Underground apart from other horror experiences.”

And if that doesn’t get your heart racing, maybe this will: the adventure lasts up to 45 minutes, and you’ll be moving through a cavernous maze, with every twist and turn designed to push you to your limits. You’ll also need to collect hidden magical cards to defeat Bellum and escape the terror that has consumed the bunker.
