CHOCOELF’s latest fusion-flavoured chocolate bars celebrate Singaporean heritage by bringing together local powerhouses

1 0

CHOCOELF, a beloved homegrown chocolate brand established in 2005 and known for its artisanal approach to chocolate-making has collaborated with three iconic Singaporean brands; Tai Hua Food IndustriesFragrance Foodstuff, and Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee to infuse their expertise and unique flavours in three new chocolate bars which celebrate local flavours and heritage.

From L to R: John Ng Xin Yi, Assistant Factory Manager at Tai Hua; Kamen Pek, Quality Assurance Manager at Tai Hua; Joe Lee, Co-Founder of CHOCOELF; Thomas Pek, Managing Director of Tai Hua; Josephine Lee, Co-Founder of CHOCOELF; Tan Wee Li, Business Development Manager of Fragrance Foodstuff; Jerry Er, Caffeine Dealer Accounts Manager of Tiong Hoe and Yip Jiajie, Marketing Lead, Tiong Hoe

And, I had the incredible opportunity to meet with these iconic Singaporean brands at CHOCOELF’s bustling cafe. It was a meeting of minds and palates, as these local powerhouses came together to create something truly remarkable: fusion-flavoured chocolate bars that celebrate Singapore’s vibrant culinary heritage. As I savoured the delectable chocolates crafted from these collaborations, one stood out as my personal favourite: the CHOCOELF x Tai Hua Umami Soy Brew Chocolate Bar. Imagine the perfect balance of sweet and savoury, with rich notes derived from Tai Hua’s renowned soy sauce. It’s a culinary masterpiece that pays homage to a humble ingredient deeply rooted in Asian cuisine.

But it wasn’t just the chocolates that left a lasting impression. The team at the cafe was incredibly generous, opening up their entire menus and their hearts to the media. Amidst the aroma of rows upon rows of chocolate bars, I couldn’t help but feel inspired by the innovative spirit driving this collaboration forward.

Speaking of inspiration, did you know that CHOCOELF’s founder Dr Joe Lee is a urologist by day and an award-winning chocolatier by night? It’s a testament to the brand’s dedication to pushing boundaries and creating magic in every bite.
