City Square Mall is gearing up to make this September a month to remember with a series of exciting activities and immersive experiences to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Traditionally, this festival marks the end of the autumn harvest season and the joyful reunions of loved ones under the full moon. It’s a time for families and friends to come together, enjoy mooncakes, and lanterns, and share joy and laughter.
To make this celebration even more special, City Square Mall has planned a lineup of activities that will bring families and loved ones closer together. From creative workshops to captivating lantern displays and live performances, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Mid-Autumn Moonlight Magic @ City Square Mall
Carousel Lantern-Making Workshops

No Mid-Autumn Festival is complete without lanterns, and now you have the chance to make your very own! Spend a minimum of $50 and receive a lantern-making workshop pass*. This pass allows you to create your own unique carousel lantern with colourful LED lights. You can even add your personal touch by painting your designs or using the provided cutouts of the moon goddess and her cute rabbit. Make your own DIY lantern to adorn your home during this festival! *Redeemable at L2 Customer Service Counter on 22 September with same-day receipt(s). Limited to 20 slots per session on a first-come, first-served basis.
Moon Terrarium Workshops

If you’re looking for something more unique, you can create your very own moon terrarium with a minimum spend of $50. These miniature gardens in glass containers make for fantastic decor pieces. Embrace the Mid-Autumn theme by crafting your dream garden for the jade rabbits. *Redeemable at L2 Customer Service Counter on 23 September with same-day receipt(s). Bridge of Mid-Autumn Bliss
- Date: 15 to 29 September 2023

Lanterns symbolize prosperity and good fortune, lighting the path for people. In keeping with this tradition, City Square Mall is collaborating with Tree Art, one of its tenants, to showcase a beautiful lantern display. Tree Art specializes in art classes for both kids and adults, including painting and drawing. Students from Tree Art will decorate 20 lanterns that will be displayed at Level 4 Linkbridge.
But these lanterns offer more than just visual delight. They will also feature positive well-being messages and lantern riddles in partnership with Silver Ribbon Singapore (SRS), a mental health organization. You can take away a positive message for yourself or challenge yourself to solve one of the riddles on display. Submit your answers and stand a chance to win one of 15 $10 Grab vouchers!
In preparation for World Mental Health Day in October, SRS has teamed up with City Square Mall to promote mental wellness by displaying self-care posters in the toilet cubicles. These reminders will offer support during life’s challenges and act as soothing reminders when times get tough. Keep an eye out for these self-care tips in the toilet cubicles on levels Basement 2 to Level 6.
Singapore Comic Con Prelude 2023

Get a sneak peek of the excitement coming up at Singapore Comic Con 2023, scheduled for December. Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) is the ultimate celebration of Western and Asian pop culture, featuring live games, collectable exhibits, and something for everyone.
For young fans, the highlight will be meeting Bluey, the adorable character from the Australian animated preschool television series. Young enthusiasts can take photos with their favourite characters and engage in hands-on activities, including building a combat sabre and miniature painting.
SGCC Prelude is also the perfect opportunity for those interested in gaming. Explore HeroClix, a collectable miniatures game, and Vanchcard, an AR trading card game. Share the fun with friends and family as you dive into these popular and exciting games. And, of course, cosplay lovers are in for a treat with intricate costumes showcased during the Cosplay Parades. This year, there’s even a special Kids Cosplay Runway for young ones to showcase their creativity.

WE: Defining Stories Photo Exhibition by National Heritage Board

Immerse yourself in a captivating visual showcase of our shared history. Witness significant moments frozen in time through headline photographs from the archives of the Straits Times and the National Museum of Singapore Collection.
Creative PLAYground: Of September Sunsets and Starry Nights

Presented by City Square Mall and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Creative PLAYground is a collaborative series of performances and sonic installations by NAFA students, staff, and alumni. Supported by City Developments Limited (CDL) and the NAFA Collaborative Lab Grant, this event is part of a broader series of celebrative events held in conjunction with NAFA’s 85th Anniversary. Be enchanted by the IGTQuartet, comprising full-time Diploma in Music and Diploma in Music Teaching students at the NAFA School of Music, as they present a delightful mix of classical compositions and contemporary arrangements over two evenings.
