Traveloka, Southeast Asia’s leading digital travel and lifestyle booking platform, proudly celebrates its ninth anniversary this year since the conceptualisation of the brand, and its vision of helping consumers “explore the world through Traveloka”.

From functioning as a metasearch back in 2012 to a comprehensive travel and lifestyle booking platform that boasts more than 60 million downloads till date, Traveloka continues to improve its offerings by providing a wide range of services via their platform for consumers. As one of the few leading digital online travel and lifestyle booking platforms that caters to Southeast Asian travellers, Traveloka has achieved significant organic revenue growth since its inception in 2012. In a pandemic struck 2021, Traveloka has managed to reach profitability at the end of the year while continuously working closely with governments across the Southeast Asian markets in a bid to revive economies.

Today, Traveloka operates in six individual markets across Southeast Asia (SEA) and boasts more than 200,000 routes worldwide in partnerships with more than 100 domestic and international airlines. With the recent successes of the application, Traveloka is looking to announce their initial public offering (IPO) and are currently finalising their plan to go public as well.

“During the last nine years, our passion to bring the world to our consumers’ fingertips have been the engine behind our daily efforts to expand our services and offerings on the platform. This is still a firm hallmark for us today as we seek to deliver a suite of services with our experienced customer service support, enabling our customers to optimise their travel experience with the platform.” said Reza Amirul Juniarshah, Head of Corporate Communications, Traveloka.

Consumer insights into SingapoRediscovers vouchers redemptions

As one of the authorised booking partners for SingapoRediscovers Vouchers by Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Traveloka has rolled out diverse products and attractive deals across attractions, hotels and tours for Singaporeans to rediscover what they love about Singapore. Ever since Traveloka introduced the option to combine SingapoRediscovers Vouchers with Traveloka vouchers and bank coupons, more than 40% of Singaporean users have tapped it to enjoy greater savings. Traveloka and Traveloka’s partners will continue to work with its merchants to bring more exciting products and bundles for Singaporeans to make use of their Vouchers.

The data also revealed that Singaporeans planned their staycations in advance, with 85% of bookings made at least one month in advance. Moreover, many users capitalised on the various long holiday breaks in the beginning of 2021 to explore Singapore, as evidenced by an increase of up to sixfold in bookings for attractions, tours and hotel stays over the New

Year and Lunar New Year weekend, compared to the same period last year. Some popular experiences during these long weekends include the Night Safari, S.E.A. Aquarium and Singapore DUCKtours.

As part of its continued commitment towards consumers, Traveloka will place special booths in Bugis and Orchard MRT stations from 4 – 31 March 2021, where commuters can participate in interactive games and stand a chance to win up to S$15 of additional Traveloka hotel vouchers to combine with their SingapoRediscovers vouchers. In addition, each participation captured at the booths will be translated into S$1 and donated to Club Rainbow Singapore.

Reza Amirul Juniarshah, Head of Corporate Communications at Traveloka said, “As a leading lifestyle and travel booking platform, we seek to offer a full range of services for users who redeem their SingapoRediscovers Vouchers via the platform. The SingapoRediscovers vouchers are a great way to encourage locals to rediscover the city, as well as re-stimulate local tourism, support home-grown businesses as well as creating a significant impact to the recovering tourism industry.”

Singapore citizens can also discover deals for hotel stays, attractions and local tours by operators through the website. For more information on Traveloka, please download the latest version of the Traveloka app or visit traveloka.com.
