The (Anime Festival Asia) AFA Singapore 2024 was a weekend to remember for anime lovers, with Crunchyroll once again stealing the show with its immersive experiences, exclusive merchandise, and fan-favourite activities.

Held at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre from 29 November to 1 December, the event brought together anime enthusiasts from across the region. The Vent Machine team was in attendance, and here’s our recap of the unforgettable moments we experienced.

Crunchyroll’s booth was a crowd-puller at AFA Singapore 2024

Crunchyroll’s booth was a hub of activity, offering fans a chance to dive into their favourite anime universes. The Solo Leveling Experience Dome captivated visitors with its dark and suspenseful recreation of Sung Jinwoo’s battles. The audiovisual elements were intense, and every participant walked away with a coveted Solo Leveling acrylic keychain, making the experience even more memorable.

The One Piece Wanted! Photo Op was another crowd-puller, letting fans pose with iconic “Wanted” props to feel like part of the Straw Hat Crew. Fans who shared their snaps online were rewarded with collector-worthy sticker sheets and cards.

Meeting Anime legends: Taichi Ichikawa stole the spotlight

One of the highlights for The Vent Machine team was the Taichi Ichikawa Meet-and-Greet Session on 30 November. Shanna Oracion Gandicela and Lau Kee Chia, Samuel, had the chance to meet the voice behind Jyu Viole Grace from Tower of God.

Taichi’s passion for his craft and warm interactions with fans left a lasting impression. His panel discussion with Saori Hayami earlier that day provided incredible behind-the-scenes insights into the world of anime voice acting.

A cosplay wonderland at AFA Singapore 2024 with The Akiba Stage and more

TVM’s Shanna and Sam particularly enjoyed the AKIBA Stage, which buzzed with the energy of cosplay competitions and electrifying performances by J-idol groups. The talent and creativity on display were awe-inspiring, highlighting the diversity and vibrancy of anime culture.

Crunchyroll’s Death Note Game Booth was another standout for both contributors. Fans had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the psychological thrill of the Death Note universe, with interactive challenges that tested their wits.

An unforgettable finale: The I LOVE ANISONG concert was magical!

AFA 2024 concluded on a high note with the I LOVE ANISONG Concert. Shanna and Sam were among the thrilled attendees, each with their personal favourites. Shanna couldn’t stop raving about KAF’s emotive performance, while Sam was mesmerised by KANA-BOON’s high-energy set.

The concert was a celebration of music, anime, and fan camaraderie, making it the perfect way to wrap up an eventful weekend.

Crunchyroll’s presence at AFA Singapore 2024 exemplified their dedication to connecting fans with the anime they love. From unique experiences to exclusive merchandise, they delivered on every front.

For The Vent Machine team, AFA Singapore 2024 wasn’t just an event—it was an immersion into the worlds we’ve grown up loving. We’re already looking forward to what Crunchyroll will bring to the table next year.
