Melvados and Nutriient unveil guilt-free indulgences for all!

0 0

Singaporean food purveyor Melvados, a part of the Foodedge Gourmet family, and local startup Nutriient have launched a revolutionary ‘Better For You’ product range. This new line introduces Singapore’s first-ever Low Glycemic Index (GI) Brownie and Low Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookie, making tasty and safe treats for even those with diabetes.

Innovative and healthy desserts

Melvados and Nutriient’s ‘Better For You’ product range is not just about taste; it’s about transforming the concept of guilt-free indulgence. Bandana Kaur, Brand Manager of Foodedge Gourmet, emphasised this by saying, “At Melvados, we firmly believe that taste and enjoyment should never be compromised when it comes to our products.”

The Low-GI Brownie, priced at $15.50 for a tray of 4 and $38 for a tray of 10, and the Low Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookie at $2.90 per pack, are crafted with Melvados’ original recipes and Nutriient’s proprietary Low GI sugar substitute blend. This innovative partnership has resulted in delicious desserts that not only taste great but are also a healthier alternative to traditional snacks.

A healthier option for all

With the rising prevalence of diabetes in Singapore, Melvados and Nutriient are taking a proactive approach to promote conscious eating. Sean Lee, Chief Executive Officer at Nutriient, explained, “Innovating and creating healthy yet great tasting food options has always been the focus here at Nutriient.”

The Low-GI Brownie, packed with 8.1 grams of protein and 4.7 grams of fibre per serving, offers a delightful blend of dark couverture chocolate, walnuts, and ground almonds. On the other hand, the Low Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookie contains just 13g of sugar, 2.8 grams of protein, and 2.3 grams of fibre per serving. This represents a significant reduction in sugar content, an increase in dietary fibre, and an overall improvement in the nutritional profile compared to traditional offerings.

Nutriient’s cutting-edge technology

Nutriient, a spin-off from A*Star’s Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI), has developed a proprietary mixture that can replace up to 100% of sugar in existing recipes. This revolutionary mixture aims to lower the GI, increase protein and dietary fibre, and reduce added sugar – a major contributor to Type II diabetes.

By leveraging Nutriient’s low-GI premix, Melvados has created desserts that are not only delicious but clinically validated to be safe for individuals with diabetes to consume. This breakthrough is a testament to Nutriient’s state-of-the-art technology, allowing for easy, one-to-one substitutions of sugar in various recipes without compromising taste or texture.

Celebrate with special promotions

To celebrate the launch of the ‘Better for You’ product range, Melvados is offering a limited-time-only promotion at all their retail outlets. Customers can enjoy a 20% discount on the new Low-GI Brownie and Low Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookie throughout October and November. Stay tuned to Melvados (@melvados.sg) and Nutriient (@nutriientsg) Instagram pages for more details on this exciting promotion. Don’t miss the chance to savour these delectable and health-conscious treats!
