A POLYSENSORIAL RECONNECTION, created by Maison 21G in collaboration with three eminent local artists, tells the tale of each olfactory family

I have been a fan of Maison 21G for their bespoke fragrances and amazingly refreshing candles for a while now. So, when I got invited to the launch of their first-ever one-of-a-kind immersive event “A Polysensorial Reconnection”, I had to go.

A Polysensorial Reconnection” curated by the Parisian high-end perfumery brand Maison 21G will take place in Singapore from November 10 to November 25. The multi-sensory exhibition will highlight the works of DJ and producer MYRNE, digital illustrator André Wee, and photographer Lee Yik Keat. The five classic accords—Floral, Aquatic, Woody, Citrus, and Amber—have been artistically interpreted by each multidisciplinary artist and have been assembled by Maison 21G founder and Master Scent Designer Johanna Monange. This exhibition will also feature a unique combination of Woody and Floral families that were inspired by Andre’s digital artwork, La Création.

“Smell is the most difficult sense to quantify or describe, and I would like to challenge Yik Keat, André and MYRNE to go beyond the expected prisms of visual art and music to break the codes of sensory perception”, said Johanna Monange, Maison 21G Founder and Master Scent Desi.

In order to emphasise how many ingredients combine flawlessly to produce perfumery enchantment, Yik Keat caught the essence of each smell family and overlaid them with extra texture. In a method that had never been used before, MYRNE created five special tracks that showed what each aroma would sound like. Enjoy these tunes, which MYRNE specifically made for each accord, while viewing Yik Keat’s photographs for an immersive experience. When you combine two different accords, endless perfumery possibilities open up, mesmerising you with the wonder of scent creation. André perfectly captured this.

During the 10 to 25 November 2022 period, a special collection of the six curated scents—Floral, Aquatic, Woody, Citrus, Amber, and La Création—will be sold in 30ml and 100ml EDP sizes for SGD 150 and SGD 320, respectively. The six different languages used in the bottle design emphasised the locations where Maison 21G has retail locations. Only the Duxton Flagship Boutique and Marina Bay Sands Boutique will sell these perfumes.

From November 10 to November 25, 2022, the public can visit this one-of-a-kind exhibition that combines all five senses. For the first week, it will only be on display at Maison 21G’s Duxton Flagship Boutique; for the second week, it will move to the brand’s Marina Bay Sands Boutique, allowing more visitors to experience this rare polysensorial exhibition, which is being presented in Singapore for the first time.

In order to educate your noses and encourage you to express yourself by creating your trademark smell in complete freedom, Maison 21G is pushing the boundaries of creativity and bespoke perfumery with the release of A Polysensorial Reconnection.
