Saving clothes from landfills in an unconventional first step towards sustainability

0 0

When the pandemic hit, many businesses across the world had to close their doors. This resulted in an accumulation of garments from various fashion brands that were not able to be sold.

Local fashion label Blum & Co bought over these deadstock items, saving them from landfills and working with their local team of seamstress and tailors, gave the apparels its signature elegant twist to launch a collection that flatters the female form.

The sustainable collection reflects the label’s first committed step in reducing waste in the fashion industry.  Sizes range from US2 to US12. Alteration services are also available for a tailored fit.

Furthering its initiative to reduce fabric waste, Blum & Co has extended its alteration services to apparels from other brands at a flat rate of just $8. This encourages customers to prolong the longevity of clothes and be more sustainable with their wardrobe. They would also like to encourage shoppers to pass this along and rope in friends and loved ones to give their clothes a new lease of life by gifting them alteration vouchers worth $120 at a discounted price of $80.

The latest collection is now available in-store at Blum & Co outlets and online at blumnco.com

In addition, from now till 14 May, shoppers can trade in their preloved clothing in-store in exchange for up to two new blouses worth $80 (terms and conditions apply). As part of their recycling initiative, those pre-loved items will be given back to the community through an upcoming community outreach programme to give them a second lease of life.
