Homegrown online retail platform ezbuy has launched two initiatives – a free mask distribution and a million-dollar markdown promotion to aid in improving Singaporean’s lives amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic.
While Singapore readies herself for a “new normal”, ezbuy wants to make a difference by providing tangible solutions to better help the community. With masks now being a mandatory- wear item for all Singaporeans outdoors, ezbuy has pledged to distribute 300,000 free masks across households in Singapore. Those who wish to receive the masks need only make an online request.
ezbuy’s Million-Dollar Markdown promotion will also help provide some relief to those hit by financial woes during this pandemic. Offering discounts across a range of essential items and other goods, Singaporeans can shop for their necessities online without having to stretch their budgets.
“As we are facing the impact of this pandemic together, ezbuy wanted to give back to the community that has continuously been supporting us. Having always prided ourselves on creating simple solutions to meet customer needs, these two initiatives were a logical step in providing better support to Singaporeans during this time,” said Wendy Liu, Chief Executive Officer of ezbuy.
“Registering for the masks is simple and free, making what is now an essential item accessible to more Singaporeans. In addition, our Million-Dollar markdown promotion aims to lighten the financial load of individuals and families to ease the pressure of getting their daily essential supplies for their households and loved ones.”
300,000 free masks for Singaporeans
ezbuy has pledged to distribute up to 300,000 free masks across 100,000 households in Singapore. Online registration for the masks opened earlier in mid-April, and distribution began on 2 May 2020. Those who have requested for the masks simply had to register online and leave their letterbox seals unlocked to receive their mask delivery.
The masks are hand-delivered by a dedicated fleet of ezbuy staff and delivery drivers through their residential letterboxes. Some part-time drivers have even volunteered to deliver the masks without compensation after completing their work shift, helping to spread the kindness a little further in Singapore.
Packed and shipped from a medical mask-production facility in China, the masks are approved for safety and quality by the relevant authorities. Extra precautions have also been taken during delivery, with masks and hand sanitizer freely provided by the company.
This initiative is one of a string of mask distributions carried out by Lightinthebox, ezbuy’s parent company. They have similarly distributed over 1.2 million free masks across Malaysia, Pakistan, North America, and Europe.
ezbuy million-dollar markdown promotion
In the spirit of helping consumers watch their spending and providing ease on essential purchases during this time, ezbuy has also set aside a budget of SGD$1 million to mark down various products on the platform, guaranteeing the lowest online prices for those items.
Already available in its soft-launch phase on ezbuy’s mobile app, the promotion was officially on launched to ezbuy’s website on 25 May 2020. It features discounts ranging between 20% to 70%, with priority given to essential products such as groceries, daily necessities, home & living items as well as electronics and household appliances.
The markdown is also extended to products across every other category on the platform to fulfil different consumer needs. Items included in the markdown will be automatically discounted on the site, with the offer applying solely to purchases made within Singapore.
This promotion is applicable for purchases made on https://ezbuy.sg/ or via ezbuy’s mobile app. Terms and conditions apply.
