Singapore’s National Day collaborations have taken a deliciously unexpected turn this year, with Lenskart partnering with homegrown snack brand Old Chang Kee on a limited-edition eyewear collection. Bringing together contemporary eyewear and one of Singapore’s most recognisable local flavours, the playful capsule collection features three exclusive frame designs, a curry puff-inspired spectacle pouch and a dangling Curry’O charm.

It is a collaboration that sounds unusual on paper, but somehow makes perfect sense. Old Chang Kee’s golden curry puffs have long been part of everyday life in Singapore, while eyewear is an equally familiar daily essential. The collection blends both worlds through subtle references to the heritage snack brand rather than turning the glasses into novelty accessories.

Three designs inspired by local favourites

The Lenskart x Old Chang Kee collection includes three frame styles: the Black Full Rim Square, Black Full Rim Round and Silver Full Rim Geometric.

The Black Full Rim Square features a black frame with gold-lined detailing designed to evoke the warm tones of a freshly wrapped curry puff. It is completed with Old Chang Kee’s Curry’O icon for a small but instantly recognisable finishing touch.

For those who prefer a rounder silhouette, the Black Full Rim Round incorporates etched patterns of the Curry’O and fishball icons across the frame. The design is a light-hearted tribute to the familiar snacks that have been enjoyed by generations of Singaporeans.

The most eye-catching option is the Silver Full Rim Geometric, which comes with a dangling curry puff charm. Inspired by the pleated, hand-folded appearance of Old Chang Kee’s signature snack, the charm transforms the curry puff into a surprisingly wearable keepsake.

While the details are playful, the frames remain practical enough for daily wear. This makes the collection suitable for anyone who wants to mark the National Day season without committing to an overly loud or costume-like accessory.

The curry puff case may steal the show

The frames are not the only reason fans may be tempted by the collaboration. Every pair comes with a specially designed spectacle pouch inspired by the shape and colouring of a curry puff, along with a microfibre cloth. The soft pouch is arguably the collection’s most conversation-starting item and looks more like a plush local-food collectible than a conventional glasses case.

It is a fitting addition for a collaboration built around nostalgia. Rather than simply placing both brand logos on a standard product, the collection uses recognisable details from Old Chang Kee’s visual identity to create something that feels distinctly Singaporean. Each pair from the collection is priced at S$150 and is available at Lenskart stores across Singapore and online.

Catch the roving pop-up across Singapore

To celebrate the launch, Lenskart is also bringing a roving pop-up experience to four shopping malls across Singapore from 31 July to 30 August 2026. The pop-up begins at Lenskart’s newly opened flagship store at Suntec City before moving to VivoCity, Jurong Point and Eastpoint Mall.

The schedule is:

Suntec City: 31 July to 9 August
VivoCity: 10 to 16 August
Jurong Point: 17 to 23 August
Eastpoint Mall: 24 to 30 August

At each stop, visitors can view the collection at a themed push cart, take part in interactive activities and enjoy selected Old Chang Kee treats. Customers who purchase from the collection can also experience a “live cooking” demonstration. Meanwhile, the first 30 customers who complete an eye test each day will receive a complimentary S$2 Old Chang Kee voucher. A lucky wheel offering prizes and additional vouchers will also be available.

A nostalgic way to celebrate Singapore

Food-inspired fashion collaborations are often designed to attract attention, but this one works particularly well because Old Chang Kee is closely connected to everyday Singapore life. Established in 1956, the homegrown snack brand has grown from a single coffeeshop stall into a familiar name with more than 100 outlets across Singapore. Its curry puffs remain an affordable comfort food for office workers, students, commuters and families alike.

By turning those familiar flavours and visual cues into wearable details, the collection offers a cheeky but affectionate celebration of local culture. Whether you are drawn to the etched snack icons, the dangling curry puff charm or simply want the plush spectacle pouch, the Lenskart x Old Chang Kee collection is certainly one of the more memorable National Day releases this year.
