National Day 2026 is upon us and this season in Singapore is never just about one day. It is the whole build-up, from festive meals and family days out to mall activities, heritage trails and little treats that make the month feel special.

This year, the celebrations come with something for every kind of mood. You can cool down with free ice cream, plan a special Wagyu dinner, explore Bras Basah.Bugis after dark or keep the kids entertained across a line-up of mall activities. Whether you are planning a family outing, a date night or a simple weekend treat, here are some National Day season highlights to bookmark.

1. Celebrate in July with free ice cream at Museum of Ice Cream Singapore

Museum of Ice Cream Singapore is turning National Ice Cream Day into a full-on sweet celebration on 19 July, with free entry to its Dessert Bar and Cafe, a complimentary ice cream cone for every guest and free access to its outdoor Sprinkle Pool for one day only.

From 10am to 6pm, the pet-friendly Dessert Bar and Cafe will be open to the public, making it an easy stop for families, friends and ice cream lovers looking for a playful day out. For this occasion, the outdoor Sprinkle Pool will be brought into the Dessert Bar and Cafe experience free of charge, creating a bright, photo-friendly setting for the celebration.

There is also an Instagram giveaway for those who want to keep the sweetness going beyond the day itself. Guests can follow @museumoficecreamsg and comment with their favourite ice cream shop for a chance to win four MOIC Annual Memberships worth $248, which include unlimited visits and exclusive member benefits for a year.

2. Mark National Day 2026 with a Wagyu tasting at Fat Cow

For those planning a more indulgent National Day meal, Fat Cow is launching the Nihon Wagyu Championship Cut on 9 August 2026. The new centrepiece platter brings together three of Japan’s distinguished Wagyu breeds in one comparative tasting experience.

Priced at $128++ per platter, the Nihon Wagyu Championship Cut includes 60g each of Japanese Black, Japanese Brown and Japanese Shorthorn. It also marks the arrival of Tankaku Wagyu and Japanese Brown, also known as Akaushi, on the menu. Tankaku Wagyu, sourced from Yamagata Prefecture, accounts for less than 0.5% of all Wagyu production in Japan and is known for its clean umami and lean, firm texture.

The platter will be available for both lunch and dinner from 9 August onwards, and will become a permanent addition to Fat Cow’s à la carte menu thereafter. Two new Wagyu steaks will also be added to the menu: Tankaku Wagyu A Grade Steak from Yamagata Prefecture and Shiretoko Wagyu A4 Steak from Hokkaido’s Shiretoko Peninsula, priced at $108++ each for 120g. For the occasion, guests can also raise a glass with the Fat Cow SG 61, an exclusive National Day 2026 cocktail priced at $26++ per glass.

Best for: Date nights, special occasion meals and diners who want to taste the difference between Wagyu origins

The light and digital experiences will be inspired by local folklore, transforming historical buildings and hidden spaces across the precinct into experiential zones. Held in conjunction with Singapore Night Festival 2026, the event will take place across five locations, giving festival-goers a new way to explore familiar streets, stories and spaces.

It is a nice option for those who want something more atmospheric than the usual mall outing, especially if you enjoy heritage, night walks, photography or discovering Singapore through a different lens.
