Art enthusiasts, mark your calendars for Jean-Michel Basquiat – ‘Behind the Canvas’ Series!

This December, Singapore will host the global debut of Behind the Canvas Series 1: Jean-Michel Basquiat. Presented by Covenant ART and House of Inspiration, this immersive exhibition celebrates the life and legacy of one of contemporary art’s most influential figures.

From 16th December 2024 to 6th March 2025, the iconic Marina Bay Sands will transform into a haven of creativity, offering visitors an unforgettable journey through the artistry and impact of Jean-Michel Basquiat.

A fresh perspective on an iconic artist with ‘Behind the Canvas’ Series

Jean-Michel Basquiat’s raw, emotive artistry revolutionised contemporary art, seamlessly blending neo-expressionist styles with themes of identity, race, and social dynamics.

Supported by the Basquiat Estate and Artestar, the Behind the Canvas series provides a unique lens into Basquiat’s world. Visitors will experience:

Chosen as the inaugural location for the Behind the Canvas series, Singapore reaffirms its status as a global arts hub. The exhibition also coincides with Singapore Art Week 2025, enhancing its significance as a cultural milestone.

Jude Robert, co-founder of Covenant ART, expressed his excitement: “Launching this original concept in my home country, Singapore, is deeply personal. We hope this experience will serve as a catalyst for creativity and connection, showing why Basquiat’s work remains so relevant today.”
