POMELO unveils Fall 2020 collection

Pomelo, Southeast Asia’s leading omnichannel fashion platform, opens the F/W season by unveiling its Fall Collection 2020 campaign. The brand’s largest campaign of the season is fronted by 13 diverse personalities and Pomelo Girls from across the region, presenting a versatile and vibrant selection of modern romantic pieces inspired by the Victorian era.

Launched last week, the Fall 2020 Collection is now available on the Pomelo app via iOS and Android, online at POMELOFASHION.COM, and in-stores.

Pomelo’s latest collection brings together Pomelo Girls of different ethnicities and sizes, hailing from diverse backgrounds and cultures from across the region. In support of local governments’ calls for safe distancing and travel restrictions imposed in light of the coronavirus situation, the Fall 2020 Campaign was shot and produced across four territories over a two-week period – physically in Thailand, and remotely in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Led by an all-female crew including Singaporean photographer Lenne Chai, NYC-based set designer Lauren Walkup, and Bangkok-based Videographer Jean Khamkwan, the remote shoots were co-directed by both the crew and the talents, via video conferencing, to capture each Pomelo Girl in her own unique reality and environment while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the team.

This campaign features an inclusive and diverse roster of personalities representing the different facets within the same Pomelo Community, including Thailand’s leading actress Davika Hoorne, Singapore’s rising homegrown artiste Shye, and breakout supermodel Diya Prabhakar. Rounding up this eclectic cast of Pomelo Girls are Bangkok-based transgender model, Kiss, Pomelo fans selected from the brand’s social media casting earlier this year, Pomelo employees, and up-and-coming models and personalities representing Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Fall Collection 2020 draws inspiration from the romantic and extravagant aesthetic of the Victorian era, with a twist of modern sensuality. This 50-piece collection focuses on elegant dresses with dreamy puffed sleeves, feminine necklines, and tailored suits with a pop of colour. The collection also features contemporary pieces adorned with Victorian angel and pressed botanical prints, exclusively created by Pomelo’s in-house designers for Fall. Highlighting a vibrant assortment of styles in a monochrome colour palette, this collection encourages women to express their true selves by embracing their personal styles, as they navigate their way through the joys and experiences in their lives.

To celebrate the launch, the brand hosted an exclusive Livestream show on 16th September at 8:00 pm SGT, showcasing the collection from the perspectives of our Pomelo Girls from across the region. Fans and fashion observers from across the region were able to catch Pomelo’s highly-anticipated content via the Pomelo App and Facebook.

Pomelo Fall 2020 collection is now available on the Pomelo iOS and Android apps, POMELOFASHION.COM, and in all stores across Thailand and Singapore on 16 September.
