If your idea of a good night out involves live music, great company and a beautifully poured pint, Guinness is about to make March in Singapore a lot more exciting. This year, the iconic Irish stout is taking St. Patrick’s Day celebrations beyond a single weekend and turning it into a three-week affair across some of Singapore’s best-loved drinking enclaves.
For the first time, Guinness is rolling out The Guinness Hangout, a new pop-up experience set to appear at Emerald Hill on 26 and 27 February and Far East Square on 5 and 6 March, before the festivities build towards the St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival at Boat Quay from 13 to 15 March. Altogether, it is a city-wide celebration that blends Irish pub culture with Singapore’s own social spirit, inviting people to gather, laugh and make the most of what Guinness calls “A Lovely Day for a Guinness”.
The Guinness Hangout is bringing pub culture outdoors
Set within the heritage-rich streets of Emerald Hill and Far East Square, The Guinness Hangout is designed as a lively outdoor pop-up where people can enjoy music, interactive experiences and complimentary half pints of Guinness. The concept is an ode to spirited evenings out, with a line-up that captures the fun and ritual of a classic pint shared among friends.
Among the highlights is The Guinness Pint Parade, led by the Guinness pint mascot and NEW STREAM BRASS BAND, described in the release as Singapore’s first New Orleans-style brass band. Expect the parade to bring music and movement through the streets in a way that feels festive from the first sip. There will also be live DJ sets from local names including Mya and Sivanesh, adding a more contemporary party energy to the celebrations.
Guests can also try the Pour Your Own Pint experience, where they can learn the famous two-part Guinness pour with guidance from professionals, then put their skills to the test. For those who like their nights out with a little playful flair, there is also a Tattoo Gachapon featuring temporary tattoos inspired by iconic Guinness motifs.
It is easy to see why this launch matters for the precincts involved too. In the release, Tanan Tay, Head of Operations at Que Pasa, No.5 Emerald Hill and Ice-Cold Beer, described it as a milestone for Emerald Hill, noting that the precinct thrives on atmosphere, storytelling and community-driven experiences.
Boat Quay will host the big St. Patrick’s Day weekend finale
The celebrations culminate at Boat Quay, where the St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival will transform the riverside district into a three-day celebration of Irish culture, live entertainment and social revelry. Jointly organised by Guinness and Singapore River One, this year’s edition is set to build on the momentum of last year’s festival, which drew 36,000 revellers, with an additional music stage added for 2026.
Festivalgoers can expect three stages of non-stop entertainment, with music ranging from Celtic rock by Gan Ainm to DJ sets by SHANE2SWEET and CANDICEB, including performances from The Guinness Hangout’s Kombi Van. The festival will also spotlight Irish cultural performances, with appearances by Comhaltas Singapore, a non-profit dedicated to preserving traditional Irish music and dance, as well as Irish Inspirational Dance Singapore, returning with a crowd-favourite performance. A makeover booth offering temporary glitter tattoos and face painting will add to the street-party atmosphere.
Michelle Koh, Executive Director at Singapore River One, described the event as a vibrant meeting point between Irish and Singaporean social culture, where food, hospitality and celebration come together in one shared space. That mix of cultures feels especially fitting in a district like Boat Quay, which already knows how to host a lively night out.
There is more happening beyond the main festival grounds
The St. Patrick’s Day mood will not be limited to Emerald Hill, Far East Square and Boat Quay. Guinness says pubs and bars across Singapore will also be joining in the celebrations. One highlight is Muddy Murphy’s exclusive Fatti Burke x Guinness pop-up store, running from 10 to 17 March at its atrium space on Orchard Road. The pop-up will feature the latest Guinness and Fatti Burke collections, alongside a Perfect Pour booth, an interactive photo booth, festival discounts on merchandise and prizes for Perfect Pour champions.
Muddy Murphy’s will also host the 17:59 Guinness Moment – Super Saturday on 14 March at 5.59pm, when Guinness will be poured free for 17 minutes and 59 seconds in a nod to the brand’s founding year of 1759.
There is also a practical side to the festivities. Guinness has named Grab as its Official Transport Partner for the Street Festival, with $3 off Grab rides to and from Boat Quay from 13 to 15 March, valid for trips with pick-up or drop-off points in the area. On top of that, $9 Guinness pints will be available through Grab Dine Out Deals at over 50 participating venues.
You can also collect exclusive Guinness merchandise
For those who like a keepsake with their pint, Guinness is launching its first-ever digital rewards programme, the Guinness Passport. By enjoying Guinness at The Guinness Hangout or the St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival, attendees can earn stamps and redeem exclusive merchandise. Rewards include a Guinness keychain, earring, socks, bucket hat, tote bag, pint-shaped bucket bag, camping chair and a limited-edition Lovely Day for a Guinness T-shirt.
Those keen to get started can sign up for the Guinness Passport on Drinkies and claim a complimentary half pint using the promo code FREEGUIPINT. Guinness states that the events are open to the public aged 18 and above.
