If you have a K-pop loving child at home, or simply a kid who enjoys music, dancing and colourful interactive spaces, there is one K-POP Immersive Experience in Singapore right now that genuinely feels made for them. And I say this from personal experience.
My daughter has already gone twice. Once for the media preview and then again with her friends a few days later. Honestly, if I asked her whether she wants to go a third time, the answer would probably be a very enthusiastic yes.
The experience is called “Next Idol: An Immersive Music Experience”, currently running at Groundseesaw Singapore. It transforms a gallery space into a vibrant, interactive K-pop universe where kids can dance, play games, draw, pose for photos and step into the world of their favourite idols.
For families looking for something different during the March school holidays, this is easily one of the most fun and unexpected outings we’ve done this year.
Step into an amazing world of K-POP Immersive Experience
The moment you walk into the exhibition, it becomes clear that this is not a typical museum-style show where you just walk around looking at things. This experience is highly interactive from the start.
The storyline transports visitors into a futuristic world where K-pop idols have disappeared, and you join a mission to bring the spirit of K-pop back. Along the way, you experience different stages of what it takes to become an idol, from music performances to fan culture and creative expression.
What makes it especially engaging for kids is how every room invites participation. There are:
• Rhythm and dance games where kids move to K-pop music
• Massive interactive walls that respond to movement
• AI drawing spaces where sketches come to life
• Colourful projection rooms filled with music and visuals
• Creative zones for decorating costumes and artwork
• Photobooths for instant K-pop style photos
One of the highlights is a huge interactive rhythm game wall, where timing and movement control the visuals while music plays around you. It feels like stepping inside a giant music video. My daughter spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to beat her friends’ scores.
A surprisingly meaningful glimpse into the K-pop journey
What I didn’t expect was that the K-POP Immersive Experience also offers kids a glimpse into the early journeys of K-pop idols. Some parts of the exhibition explore the lives of aspiring performers, showing how idols train, develop their talents and work hard before stepping onto the big stage.
For children who only see the glamorous side of K-pop online, this was a nice reminder that behind every performance are years of dedication and perseverance. It turned into a surprisingly good conversation with Divisha later about effort, passion and sticking with something you love.
The most adorable merch corner at K-POP Immersive Experience
Of course, no K-pop themed experience would be complete without merchandise. And this place absolutely delivers. At the end of the exhibition there is a cute merchandise store filled with photocard collectibles, posters, stickers, keychains and other K-pop inspired keepsakes.
Divisha has already made two purchases across her two visits:
• First visit: a pack of adorable stickers
• Second visit: a K-pop themed notepad she now guards like treasure
I suspect the third visit might involve a photocard or two.
Photo booths, AI avatars and K-beauty fun
Another part that kids absolutely love is the AI-powered photo experiences. Visitors can transform themselves into K-pop idols through AI-generated images with stylised outfits and stage looks.
There are also:
• Photo booths with K-pop themed frames
• AI skin analysis and personal colour discovery
• Fortune cards and fun fan-style interactions
For kids growing up in the age of TikTok, this mix of technology, music and visuals feels incredibly exciting.
Why this works so well for families
The K-POP Immersive Experience lasts about one hour, which is actually perfect for younger kids. It’s recommended for children aged 4 and above, and most of the activities are designed to be simple, playful and easy to participate in.
The venue itself, Groundseesaw Singapore, is located inside the striking Parkview Square building in Bugis, which is already worth a visit for its dramatic architecture. And because the experience combines music, visuals, games and creativity, it appeals to a surprisingly wide age range. Parents will enjoy it as much as the kids.
Plan your visit
If you are still looking for something fun to do during the March school holidays, this is genuinely one of the most unique family outings in Singapore right now. Whether your child is already obsessed with K-pop or simply loves music, dancing and colourful experiences, Next Idol is the kind of immersive event that kids remember long after the day is over.
And if my daughter’s reaction is any indication, you may end up visiting more than once.
