Whimsy, wonder and Zootopia finds: Christmas fun with my mini at VivoCity (and why you should go too)

There are some days that settle quietly into your heart and stay there. Our recent mom–daughter date at VivoCity was one of those days. I had promised Dishu a “special Christmas surprise”, but I don’t think either of us expected the evening to turn into a core memory. From the moment we stepped into VivoCity’s Christmas Candyland Wonderland- a kaleidoscope of colour, music and festive cheer, she was beaming in that way only a four-year-old can.

By the end of the night, she had a Zootopia shopping bag swinging from her wrist, a handcrafted bag tag she proudly designed herself, and glittering snowfall caught in her curls. And honestly? I think I was just as enchanted.

A candyland that comes alive after dark at VivoCity

Running from 14 November to 28 December 2025, VivoCity transforms into a full-blown festive spectacle- complete with its show-stopping 15-metre Candyland Christmas Tree at the Outdoor Plaza. When we arrived at dusk, the lights blinked to life like a scene out of a storybook.

But the real magic began at 7.30pm, when soft flakes drifted through the air during the snowfall session. Dishu grabbed my arm, eyes wide, whispering, “Mama, it’s actually snowing!” The second session happens at 8.30pm, and honestly, both are worth staying for.

Zootopia Dreams at the MINISO Pop-Up

One of the biggest highlights for Dishu was the MINISO Disney’s Zootopia 2 Pop-Up at Central Court. This adorable pop-up runs from 29 November to 28 December, 10am to 10pm, and is filled with cute collectibles inspired by Judy, Nick and the gang.

She immediately zoomed in on a plush, clutched it like treasure, and declared it her “Christmas friend”. Honestly, MINISO knows what they’re doing — I almost walked away with my own.

Crafting our candyland bag tag — A festive keepsake

The Create-Your-Own Sweet Surprise craft session turned out to be her favourite part of the day. We spent the late afternoon elbow-deep in colourful pieces, creating a Candyland Detachable Bag Tag (available only in November). The activity runs on Saturdays and Sundays, 4pm–8pm, at North-West Boulevard, Level 1. The December version will be a tote bag craft — and trust me, we’ll be back for that.

What surprised me was how focused she was: choosing pastel charms, rearranging shapes, asking questions about colours and patterns. It wasn’t just a cute hands-on activity; it became a little window into her growing imagination.

A snowfall she won’t forget

By nightfall, when the second snowfall session began, she lifted her face upwards and held out her hands, trying to “catch the cold stars”, as she called them. Watching her jump around in the gentle flurries while Christmas lights twinkled behind her that was my highlight of the evening. It was one of those rare parenting moments where the world briefly feels soft again.

Festive markets, sweet treats & weekend surprises

Beyond the main attractions, VivoCity has stacked the season with experiences for all ages:
