The global wellness economy is booming, expected to reach US$7.4 trillion (about SG$9.5 trillion) by 2025, yet much of it still runs on guesswork. From fad diets to trial-and-error supplements, many people are left wondering what really works for their bodies. Enter Singapore, where innovation often meets everyday life.

Today, homegrown startup ConnectingDNA unveiled the world’s first AI-powered DNA wellness marketplace, a platform designed to swap vague advice for science-backed, DNA-driven insights. By blending genetics with artificial intelligence, it promises to turn personal health data into practical, personalised recommendations while linking users directly to trusted wellness providers.

Personalised wellness without the guesswork

For years, the wellness industry has relied heavily on trial and error, with individuals experimenting with diets, supplements or exercise regimes without knowing if they would actually work for their unique biology. ConnectingDNA wants to change that.

By allowing users to upload their DNA reports securely, the platform applies a proprietary AI search engine, developed with support from Microsoft and Meta, to transform genetic information into practical recommendations across nutrition, supplements, fitness and lifestyle. This means users can skip the generic advice and receive insights that match their biology.

“The wellness industry has long been dominated by trial-and-error approaches. But it doesn’t have to be this way,” said Cedric Lee, CEO of ConnectingDNA. “Our platform translates your DNA into personalised, science-backed insights, making it easier and safer to choose what truly works for you.”

Opening new doors for wellness professionals

The platform does more than guide individuals. It also opens doors for wellness brands, nutritionists, trainers and coaches to join as vendors. By using ConnectingDNA’s vendor tools, professionals can design DNA-personalised programmes at scale, helping them reach an audience actively seeking tailored solutions.

With the global wellness market booming, and DNA testing adoption rising across Asia, ConnectingDNA sees itself filling a major gap in the industry: turning genetic data into credible, science-backed action instead of generic advice.

Simple, conversational AI

One of the most striking features is its AI-powered search, designed to understand natural, everyday queries. Users don’t need to use medical jargon or memorise supplement names. Whether someone asks about ways to fight fatigue, manage stress or boost concentration, the system interprets intent and delivers targeted solutions.

“Our AI understands the way people naturally ask questions about their health,” Lee explained. “So, whether users ask about stress or foods that help them focus, the platform can interpret their intent and connect them with solutions tailored to their needs.”

Protecting biodata with top-notch security

With personal genetic information at stake, trust and security are central.

ConnectingDNA is in the process of acquiring ISO 27001 certification for international information security, has carried out penetration testing, and counts one of its key investors as a provider of cybersecurity services to governments. The message is clear: data privacy is non-negotiable.

Stories that fuel the mission

Beyond the technology, ConnectingDNA is also powered by lived experiences.

“For me, ConnectingDNA is deeply personal,” Choo shared. “I struggled with fatigue for years until a DNA test revealed my body processed nutrients differently. Small adjustments brought dramatic improvements. That’s what we want to make accessible to everyone.”

Towards a DNA-based wellness movement

ConnectingDNA isn’t positioning itself as just another health and wellness platform. Its founders describe it as the foundation of a new way of living well, one that unites AI, genetics and preventative health.

“With the rise of AI and the growing demand for preventative health, the time is right for a paradigm shift,” Lee added. “We see ConnectingDNA as more than a marketplace, it’s a movement towards DNA-based wellness.”

The platform is is currently in beta now open for early access, allowing individuals to explore AI-powered health recommendations and giving wellness professionals a chance to register as vendors and reach a fast-growing, health-conscious community.
