Swamiji Shivkrupanand has a unique approach to meditation that goes beyond the physical realm and truly teaches us about finding inner peace and well being.

In an era dominated by hustle culture and unrelenting stress, the search for inner peace often feels elusive. His Holiness Shree Shivkrupanand Swami, affectionately known as Swamiji, is a beacon of light for those seeking solace amidst the chaos. A revered spiritual leader, Swamiji is the founder of Himalayan Samarpan Meditation, a practice deeply rooted in ancient Himalayan traditions.

Recently, Swamiji Shivkrupanand graced Singapore with his presence, hosting two transformative events: an exclusive media preview on 6th November at The Fullerton Hotel and a free public meditation session on 9th November at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre. Both gatherings left attendees profoundly moved, offering a unique glimpse into the wisdom and serenity that defines Swamiji’s teachings.

Swamiji Shivkrupanand: A spiritual pioneer

Swamiji’s journey began decades ago when he trained under Himalayan Gurus, learning ancient techniques to achieve profound states of meditation and self-realisation. With a vision to share these transformative practices, Swamiji Shivkrupanand introduced Himalayan Samarpan Meditation to the world in 1994. Over the years, his teachings have transcended cultural and geographical boundaries, creating a global community of meditators united by their quest for inner peace.

Since 2015, Swamiji’s annual Singapore programmes, organised by Journey to Inner Peace, have brought together thousands of individuals eager to embrace meditation as a pathway to mental clarity and emotional resilience. These events consistently foster a sense of community, encouraging attendees to incorporate meditation into their daily lives.

A glimpse into Himalayan Samarpan Meditation with Swamiji Shivkrupanand

The media event on 6th November was an intimate and truly enlightening experience. As an attendee, I had the privilege of sitting with His Holiness Shree Shivkrupanand Swami, or Swamiji, as he guided us through the foundational techniques of Himalayan Samarpan Meditation. The simplicity and depth of the practice were striking, and it was fascinating to see how such ancient wisdom could feel so relevant to the stresses we face in our modern, fast-paced lives here in Singapore.

Swamiji also spoke about the role of meditation in managing stress, and his words resonated deeply with me. He explained how this practice nurtures mental clarity and emotional balance, offering a much-needed antidote to the overwhelm so many of us feel. The session wasn’t just about listening; it felt like a personal journey inward.

The experience left me feeling calm and inspired, a rare state of mind in the hustle and bustle of daily life. It was a gentle yet powerful reminder to prioritise inner peace and mindfulness.

Key messages from the public meditation event

The public event on 9th November welcomed 430 attendees, including 100 individuals who were experiencing Swamiji’s teachings for the first time. Swamiji shared three profound messages:

  1. True Yog is beyond postures
Swamiji emphasised that while yogic postures (asanas) are widely celebrated, true yog is about achieving mental stillness and mastering inner fluctuations.
  2. Religion and spirituality are different
Religion, Swamiji explained, comprises external rituals and worship methods, whereas spirituality involves an inward journey guided by one’s soul. Religion serves as a stepping stone to the ocean of spirituality.
  3. Meditation is for oneself
Meditation, Swamiji reminded attendees, is a deeply personal practice. It brings inner joy and peace, not for external validation but as a connection to one’s soul.

Transformative experiences

Attendees left both events feeling inspired and rejuvenated. A young entrepreneur noted the profound impact of hearing Swamiji’s words, while another attendee shared how the energy of the gathering brought her an unparalleled sense of calm. The collective feedback underscored a shared sentiment: a rare, uplifting sense of peace in a frenetic world.

Why meditation matters

In Singapore, where 87% of individuals report feeling stressed—well above the global average—Swamiji’s visit was a timely reminder of the importance of mental wellness. Meditation, as advocated by Swamiji, is not merely a tool for relaxation; it is a life-changing practice that fosters resilience, focus, and inner peace.
