For us, Downtown East has been like a second home for over two years now. I’ve seen this vibrant lifestyle hub grow just like my baby has—right from the time she was learning to navigate the slides at Tayo Station to taking her first swimming strokes at Happy Fish.
Some of our most cherished memories are tied to this place: grocery shopping at NTUC, a delightful mum-and-daughter ritual; her giggles echoing through Gallop Stable; and, of course, the sheer joy on her face after every swimming class as she splashes around at Wild Wild Wet. Add to that her enrichment classes at My English School and Art Achievers, and Downtown East truly feels like an extension of our family life.
Now, as we approach the festive season, this haven for families is taking its charm to a whole new level with a Panda-themed Christmas extravaganza that promises magic, learning, and heaps of fun.
Immerse yourself in a magical bamboo forest at Downtown East this Christmas!
From 15 November 2024 to 12 February 2025, Downtown East transforms into a panda wonderland, with its crown jewel being an interactive bamboo forest maze at E!Avenue Event Square. Spanning 75 metres, this free installation combines play and education with 12 engaging activity zones that are sure to captivate young adventurers.
Inside, families can explore tactile and visually stunning features like a chalkboard doodle wall, a life-sized bamboo xylophone, a mirror maze, and even an interactive wall of black-and-white balls that form creative imagery. Adding to the magic is a heartwarming storyline: follow the “Magic Bamboo Scroll” as Panda searches for his family in a playful hide-and-seek adventure.
Festive highlights at Downtown East
But the fun doesn’t stop at the maze. Downtown East is rolling out a host of panda-themed activities and treats to make this season unforgettable:
- Meet Panda Mascot: Catch the adorable panda mascot during special meet-and-greet sessions on 13, 14, 20, 21 December (7pm and 8pm) and on Christmas Eve (12pm and 1pm).
- Festive performances: Sing along to Urban Harmony’s carols and enjoy live music from talented bands and ukulele players throughout December.
- Exclusive gifts: Spend $70 (NTUC members) or $80 (public) and receive a limited-edition panda tote bag and gift wrapper. Spend a little more, and you can take home a chic UPF 50+ panda-themed umbrella.
Panda adventures and treats
For animal-loving families, Gallop Stable offers a unique Panda-stic Day Out experience with horse rides, pony feeding, and panda-inspired art. Over at Upwall Climbing, take on the panda-themed climbing wall, complete with adorable photo opportunities and a chance to win exciting prizes. Budding artists can unleash their creativity with panda-themed workshops at Achievers Arts, crafting everything from paintings to clay sculptures.
And don’t forget to indulge in the cutest panda-themed sweet treats at Three Little Coconut and Cha Yu Fan Hou, from lemon-coconut-pandan macarons to Sesame Oolong Milk Tea served in limited-edition bamboo bottles.

Movie buffs are in for a treat too! Cathay Cineplexes at E!Hub is hosting exclusive reruns of Kung Fu Panda 4 with special promotional bundles, making it a perfect day out for fans of the beloved franchise.
